Its Sad to Say...

There once was a young man called Jeff,
who worked in a pub as a chef.
But while making a pie, he fell in and died.
f*** off Jeff you're a c*** and nobody likes you.

Madame you have the mind of a poet, and the mouth of a docker - i just lol'd and spat coffee all over myself. Thanks

Moz is so over the hill. Why does he still bother...can he actually listen to ROTT and say: "Right, that's a classic." Doubt it. He is more likely to say: "I need a bunch more D&G shirts, better record a terrible song by whats his name"...

ROTT is not only disappointing, it was down right terrible.

And all his whining and complaining...OMG enough. Shut Up...you are not relevant anymore.

You are a sillly old lady sipping her tea and complaining to other old bats (ie the remaining fans) about how bad everyone and everything is.

I beg to differ...

You Have Killed Me if a f**king classic.

Re: ROTT Depreciation Thread...

Lets all remember the great record call ROTT:

1. Opening Song...so terrible I dont even remember the name.
....

It's called 'I Will See You In Far Off Places' and I f***in' LOVE this track. I know not everyone shares my opinion but it shows off the POWER of the current line-up 'Why Why Why Why Why Why?' and '...and pulling faces' 2 - great moments!

ROTT is one of my favourites...

Dear God..,
You Have Killed...
Life is A Pigsty
...Work of Art
...Boy Happy
These are all classics IMHO

Re: ROTT Depreciation Thread...

omg! ever since i saw the title of this thread, i got the whole line of the song stuck in my head, and for some odd reason, i cannot remember the song!!!! can someone help me out. i know its very obvious, but i cannot remember it at all!

Re: ROTT Depreciation Thread...

The Operation

You fight with your right hand
And caress with your left hand
Everyone I know is sick to death of you
With a tear that's a mile wide
In the kite that you're flying
Everyone I know is sick to death of you
Ever since
You don't look the same
You're just not the same
No way
You say clever things
And you never used to

You don't catch what I'm saying
When you're deafened to advice 1
Everyone here is sick to the back teeth of you
With a tear that's a mile wide
In the kite that you're flying
Everyone here is sick to the tattoo of you

Ever since
You don't look the same
You're just not the same
No way
You say pleasant things 2
And there is no need to

Still
You fight with your right hand
And caress with your left hand

Sad to say
How once I was in love
With you
Sad to say

You don't catch what I'm saying
When you're deafened to advice 1

Ever since
You don't look the same
You're just not the same
No way
What the hell have
They stuck into you?

Re: ROTT Depreciation Thread...

ROTT is the coffin for our hero.
No its not. His new stuff is great, it will sell, and his career is far from over.

Its true he wont be anyone's hero now.
Hes my hero, and just because maybe every album he releases isn't as good as others, that isnt going to change.

because all of his fans are middle aged, hardworking folks with kids who do not really know what he is complaining about.
I'm not middle-aged, i'm 22. I dont have kids. I do know what hes complaining about.
I can be hard-working though. :)

That is all :guitar:

The issue is the same with my sperry's, my tretorns and my saab. They are all really comfortable...but really, in the end, they are old and are not as good as the newer models.

This is my issue with Morrisey

Can you please name some "newer models" that are better than Moz? I want to know what sort of taste I'm dealing with here.

I beg to differ...

personally, i cannot get enough of that uninspired, derivative, jingly-jangly shite, no matter how many records he makes.

it's funny to read current-day complaints about morrissey, because they've always been there, and never change. read old copies of «smiths indeed» or similar fanzines, and you'll find people complaining that the songs (circa 1986) aren't as good as "back in the days", and that «the world won't listen» doesn't give fans the same value for money as «hatful of hollow», et cetera, et cetera... substitute a few words, and it could be the statements of trolls like old jeff up here. if our man had listened to the critics back then and packed it up, the crybabies of 2008 wouldn't have most of the music they feel is so superior to moz' current output.

moz will be moz, whiners will be whiners...let's just leave it at that.

Perhaps you've outgrown him or just the one who has changed. It happens. The thing is move on and enjoy who you currently like. Life is too short to fret over such things. He isn't the same as he was when he was a younger artist. His music has changed and that's a good thing really. He is gaining new fans by the way. I'm a new fan. I've introduced him to several others and many are digging him too. Some like the older stuff more than the newer and others like his new stuff better than the older stuff.

I agree that ROTT isn't an amazing album but it's good and has some really amazing like You Have Killed Me and Life is a Pigsty, and it's miles ahead of stuff like Kill Uncle and he definitely isn't over the hill not by a long way.

A sad fact widely known
The most impassionate song
To a lonely soul
Is so easily outgrown
But dont forget the songs
That made you smile
And the songs that made you cry
When you lay in awe
On the bedroom floor
And said 'Oh, oh, smother me mother...'
No...
Rubber ring, rubber ring, rubber ring, rubber ring

The passing of time
And all of its crimes
Is making me sad again
The passing of time
And all of its sickening crimes
Is making me sad again
But don't forget the songs
That made you cry
And the songs that saved your life
Yes, you're older now
And you're a clever swine
But they were the only ones who ever stood by you

The passing of time leaves empty lives
Waiting to be filled
The passing of time
Leaves empty lives
Waiting to be filled
I'm here with the cause
I'm holding the torch
In the corner of your room
Can you hear me?
And when you're dancing and laughing
And finally living
Hear my voice in your head
And think of me kindly
No ...
Rubber ring, rubber ring, rubber ring, rubber ring
No ...
Rubber ring, rubber ring, rubber ring, rubber ring

Do you
Love me like you used to?
Oh ...
Rubber ring, rubber ring, rubber ring, rubber ring
La ...

You're clever
Everybody's clever nowadays
Youre clever
Everybody's clever nowadays
