HEAVEN KNOWS WE'RE MISERABLE NOW (dailystar)

DEPRESSED Brits are struggling through the credit crunch by singing the blues.

Millions of us are turning to gloomy music to “comfort” ourselves during these hard times.

And perhaps the current mood is best summed up by Morrissey, 49, and his band The Smiths with their 1984 hit Heaven Knows I’m Miserable Now.

i always thought that was a comedy song , who was to know it was depressing ... thanks daily star

People who say that HKIMN is a depressing song have clearly never heard it.

I very much doubt that a really sad song would have such an obvious, over-the-top title to be honest.

One of my friends who is ignorant about all things Morrissey always cites this song as "proof" that he must be as miserable as the media makes out.

You couldn't make it up.

But surely it is a bad thing that people would get into the smiths through a lower than low newspaper
