I think it's funny that you describe Morrissey as someone who "really and truly doesn't give a shit." If there was ever a celebrity more anal and self-obsessed and concerned about his public image as Morrissey, I haven't encountered them. That is definitely not "not giving a shit." That is giving a HUGE shit...about himself and his easily wounded pride...even at the expense of depriving an entire audience of a show because of one wanker who could have been easily ejected.
And that, friend, is not admirable in the least.
