Following on from the updates to the US site, it seems like Morrissey is set to take over the whole of the World Wide Web.

The official UK site www.youarethequarry.net has just been launched and includes 1-minute sound files from 3 tracks from the album. More will be added over the coming weeks. There's also lyrics too. Well worth checking out.

On the news page there are some email address for Radio One djs. Drop them a line to request they play Irish Blood. Don't know if it'll work, but must be worth a try. Let's get the Moz back on the radio.

the tracks are as follows:

The Great Debate on BBC 6 Music asks this question: Can bands survive without the music press? Mark Sutherland rants on about Morrissey and his NME interview "after 12 long and bitter years in self-imposed isolation". Here's the link:

Can bands survive without the music press?

Excerpt:

So, after 12 long and bitter years in self-imposed isolation, Morrissey has finally capitulated and given an interview to the NME, his one-time sworn enemy.

And, writing as a man who spent far too much of his tenure as NME Features Editor trying in vain to get the Moz to bury the hatchet and speak to us again, you'll excuse me if I break into a spontaneous chant of "One nil! To the NME!". Because it just goes to show that, when bands and press fall out, there can only ever be one winner. And it's never the one wearing the pop star trousers.

On BBC Radio 2 (88 to 91FM), Jeremy Vine is this morning holding a vote on the greatest opening line in rock. You can vote for Morrissey's 'Everyday Is Like Sunday' opener - "Trudging slowly through wet sand, back to the bench where your clothes were stolen".

Competition includes Bill Hayley & The Comets, The Rolling Stones and Manic Street Preachers.

So I was shopping on Melrose today with my friend at about 5 PM. I went into the dressing room to try on these ridiculous blue short shorts and when I came out to model them for my friend and who is standing there but Alain and Gary. Alain commented on my El Vez t-shirt and we started talking a bit. They said they were tired from walking and also mentioned they were staying in Burbank. I explained my unusual wardrobe and Alain advised me not to buy them or else I'd look like a weird Swedish guy with no clue. It was all very funny but it probably doesn't sound it. If only I had a picture of those shorts...

Canadian music station MuchMoreMusic's progam "Listed" for the week of April 19th listed the top 20 gay icons in music. While Madonna topped at number one Morrissey was listed at number eleven. Others on the list included Elton John, Freddie Mercury, Cher and Frankie Goes to Hollywood. I was not able to remember the whole list in order but the program is being repeated Tuesday April 20th at 6pm and 9pm and again on April 21st at 12am on MuchMoreMusic. Check local listing for channel. The complete list is updated each week at http://www.muchmoremusic.com/listed/

Just thought you might find this interesting.

I was very pleased to see last night that UK Sky digital channel VH2 (of the VH1 family) were welcoming Morrissey back with an hour of his music. Entitled 'Morrissey Vs The Smiths' they played a great set of back to back Morrissey and Smiths songs. Considering the lack of presence Morrissey solo videos have on TV playlists, I was very proud of them....but then, a couple of adverts after the last smiths song they do the unthinkable. No not play a Cure video, they put on a wonderful advert for Iams food. Mmm nice one VH2! I'm sure Moz will be jumping at the chance for you to use his vids again!

"Irish Blood, English Heart" took the number one spot this week on The Anti-Hit List by John Sakamoto [published in Eye Weekly, a Toronto arts and entertainment paper]. Here's the transcript:

1. MORRISSEY, "Irish Blood, English Heart": "Irish blood, English heart, this I'm made of/ There is no one on Earth I'm afraid of..." He's back. OK, he'll never be "back" back. Even if he could somehow replicate the ineffable thrill of his most potent music, there's no way it'll ever again be perfectly alligned with the times that nurtured it [not to mention our response to it] the way it was during the first go-round. But with the help of a ringer- pop-punk professional Jerry Finn, who's produced AFI, Green Day and Blink-182- he's come back far enough.
