I missed the original discussion of favorite recent albums, so I'd like to post mine here:
1. Robyn Hitchcock : "Luxor" -- a new acoustic album from Robyn. I think it's just available from his website and at gigs right now. It took a few listens to understand it fully, and I now realize it's excellent.
2.. The Minus 5 : "Down With Wilco" -- I hadn't heard Wilco before, and this album makes me want to listen to their music. I've been very impressed with everything I've heard that Scott McCaughey wrote or was a part of.
3. Lorna Hunt : "Sentimental Bedlam"
4. The Soft Boys : "Nextdoorland"
5. Rose Polenzani should have a new album out soon, that I can already say is a favorite, without even having heard it yet. (I think she was very influenced by Morrissey also, btw)
