Read an article about this in one of the free London newspapers last night. Can't find a link to the article but here's a link to the actual redesigned sleeve; http://www.flickr.com/photos/becks-music-inspired-art/3729083669/

"Reaching the final artwork for my redesign of The Smiths seminal “The Queen is Dead” was a lengthy, and somewhat ruthless, process of distillation through which I tried to capture what I consider to be the essence of an album which is funny, ferocious and heart breaking - a sense of romance, fragility, beauty and preservation within an image that was bold and iconic."

This is actually rather beautiful, although not as beautiful as Alain Delon, obviously...

Can you tell me the name of the newspaper you saw the article?

Re: Redesigned record sleeve for 'The Queen Is Dead'

I searched both sites 'Hellovon' and 'Beck's music inspired art', but their search only give Lady Hawk. :(

That Queen Is Dead sleeve may be a bit pretty...but it does not fit at all with the sound of the album, or The Smiths for that reason. It's more like an Electro type album...

Thumbs down.
