I love James, but this just isn't a particularly good song of theirs, and it just sounds wrong when Morrissey sings it. It's more notable for being the only time they covered a contemporary group than anything else. A 6.

great cover borrowed from fellow Manchester band James, the odds were
that James suposed to be Hymn from the north, I 'dunno why/how...but they got completely overruled by the Smiths
[I can see now, but at that time it was ... ]

I'm still not sure about the lyrics, i dunno why, but never searched for them, it's just a enjoyable tune and Morrissey singin, thats enough

oh yeah my fav song from James is Hymn from a Village
 
Doesn't really move me in anyway, but it's always good to hear The Smiths.
