Love this song! One of his best ever b-sides.
A brilliant, upbeat, zingy piece of music (well done Al) with Moz at his lyrical best; sharp, observational, witty and slightly cryptic!
He attacks from the back, he can kill standing still, he can scare with a stare...
Genius!

when you're small you're bound to look appalling

I burst into public baths and I throw my wig aroooooooooooooooooooUnd! :D

10!

it rocks and the words, even the real words, are very good! I wish I'd hear this live sometime.

I love this song. In my mind, it's the greatest of the Quarry-era b-sides. It reminds me of what much of Southpaw Grammar would have sounded like if Moz had actually bothered to write real lyrics. And who can possibly resist that falsetto? I never could, was stunned to death... but I'm still living.

A solid 9.

I have played this song more times than any other song he's released in the past 3 years and it never gets old and I always put the volume to eleven.

It's funny you mention Southpaw -- my impression too is that it was like Southpaw on steroids with a thinking cap on. I still love that album, but it could've been so much more (many say the same of ROTT).

The Quarry b-sides were so cool!

My favorite Quarry b-side, a clever and catchy song that is surprising was never played live. He performed the slower b-sides Friday Mourning and The Never-Played Symphonies, why wouldn't he also play this more upbeat, concert-friendly tune? And it was a bit pointless to release a radio session version of this as a b-side when not long before the original studio version was released as a b-side. I'm Playing Easy to Get really should have been the other b-side to Redondo Beach/There is a Light That Never Goes Out.

Not as good as Friday Mourning, or I am Two People.
and its a-ok. I give it a 7.
Please, people, this song is not a 10, nor a 9.
Lets leave those to There Is A Light, and Now My Heart is Full.

Just because it is not a serious, doesn't mean if can't be considered fantastic.

a general comment on this poll so far, due to the famous Comtesse's late voting and comments, I looked back at some of my early votes, and I have to admit I was a bit too critical with my voting on some songs

Another rant and rave at the irrepresible Mike Joyce......much better than Sorrow Will Come In The End..but still nowhere near the better b-sides from the Quarry sessions...but nowhere as dreadful as The Slum Mums or as en-snooziating as Teenage Dad On His Estate...

The best song about embittered ex-drummers ever recorded!!

Really?

My dad said it was about some film. I can't remember the name.
But several of the lines including "Compadrie, please" are in this film and also a person named Ringo.
