Decent enough...not up to par with some of the Quarry B-Sides...and definitely nowhere near the output he was doing in the early b-side years....

We've finally got through all the songs starting with the word 'I'. Hoorah!

Err, really wanted to like this song. It has a nice strummy vibe and the lyrics are ok. It's one of those songs where Moz is keen to address both genders; just like the good old days!
But the melody just doesn't seem to pack much of a punch (so to speak) so it'll be a 6 or a 7 from me...

Isn't it funny how much emotion influences our musical likes and dislikes? I freely admit there's probably nothing "special" about this song musically. Yet I HAVE to give it a 10 for being the first Moz/Smiths song I ever listened to outside of "How Soon Is Now?" and it was so pertinent to what I was going through at the time.

"I just thought you might feel the same, that's all"

will reduce me to a quivering emotional mess still.

The Scottish in me likes "run young woman through the glen" etc

Is glen a peculiarly Scottish/Irish word?

Always conjures up romantic images for me

In fact there's a glen just down the road from my home but not seen many young people running through it

The title is at least in the top 5 list of greatest titled Morrissey songs!!!

True...but the song doesn't do justice to the title..unfortunately...Like America Is Not The World

Average. 6/10

"If you don't want me, you don't have to have me
I just thought you might feel the same, that's all"

Good Moz song...nothing great though. I really wanted to love this song when I first heard it, the melody was catchy and I loved the title...but the lyrics seem a bit light to me compared to earlier B-sides. OK tune, but I can see why he was playing Ganglord live over this track.

"If you don't like me, then don't look at me
There must be somebody else who can take your gaze aways

If you don't want me
You don't have to have me
I just thought you might feel the same, that's all"

So simple, yet so effective. I love those lines, great song.

But I have heard only one live version from this song. And he sang it horribly.. I think the voice from the studio version was changed... I wonder how he can sang so quirky..

Have anyone a good live version from this song?
