Best Album opener since Now My Heart Is Full...but more powerful bombastic and In your face...everything muscially that America Is Not The World Could have been...Should have been a single..definitely....

9.

Good that I'm generous today. Otherwise it would have been 8.
And only because of the oriental sound and "if the usa doesn't bomb you".

Edit> I thought I didn't like ROTT?
Yeah, nothing's changed, I'm still the same.
Who knows?

I love it because it's been the best album starter since "The Teachers Are Afraid Of The Pupils".

And it's a killer of a live song.

It is an original song and I am pleased there is some accordion played!:)

I have to go with an 8.5. It's a great opener with some feel of old Smiths/Moz. I like the asian undertones and gonging base (I picture myself doing deep dips to those parts in a dark dance bar) and of course the cherry on top is his trademark 'yodeling' at the end to close it out. I hope nobody bombs anyone and I DO get to see Morrissey in some far off place someday ;o) even if it's when we have both closed our eyes forever...

I gave it a 2. The beginning of the song is the only appealing feature...

I like it live alot, but I just don't get it too much on record..but I still like it. 7

9/10. A very strong song off an otherwise average album.

I hoped that Ringleader Of The Tormentors would be more of a experimental album then it was - still made that I wasn't expecting an amasing album but instead a progress. YATQ was good but sometimes quite boring, I was happy as long as he did something new. So when I got to hear this song I felt happy, it got many flaws but it took guts to record. (as with "Dear God, Please Help Me", "Life Is A Pigsty" and "At Last I Am Born"). In my opinion the rest of the songs on the album was rather plain but with these songs he acctually made something new - that's why I appriciate them.

Many could have done similair songs but this is a song that only could be written by Moz (as good or bad). Therefroe I consider this to be one of the highlights on ROTT.

I've never liked it much, although I must admit it did sound great live.

You like the same 4 songs than me on ROTT!:) I feel the same about the other songs on the album.

This has probably been asked before, but does this epic poll refer strictly to the studio recorded version of the song, or in any of their incarnations (some songs morph over different tours)?

I Will See You... blew me away when I first heard it. I thought it sounded huge, and I liked the somewhat Middle Eastern vibe to it. I referred to it as "Al Jazeera Disco." Then it got even better at the live shows.

But it hasn't stayed with me. Can't put my finger on why. It has power, but not staying power. It also seems at odds with the rest of the album.

I had the same reaction to The Chemical Brothers' Galvanize, which was an absolutely storming single (again, with a Middle Eastern hook) which burned brightly but briefly.
