spanish in daddy's voice question

bored

not bitter but bored
I have a question for those who speak spanish.

Does Moz pronounce "papi" right in Don't Make Fun of Daddy's Voice?

I live in Boston and they call David Ortiz of the Red Sox "Big Papi" but they pronounce it "Poppy" where Morrissey sings "No te divertes con papi" and he prounces it "Pappy".

Did Morrissey get it wrong or is it pronounced that way in certain parts of the country/world?

Yeah, Morrissey doesn't pronounce it correctly. "Poppy" or "Paw-pee" sound the closest to the Spanish word "papi". Morrissey also mis-pronounces "diviertes". His seems to sing it with out the "i", missing a whole syllable (correct: di vi er tes, Moz: di ver tes). Basically, "no te diviertes con papi" translates to "don't amuse yourself with daddy".
