Default Morrissey-influenced Red Hot Chili Peppers song?

Has anyone heard the song "Cabron" on the new Red Hot Chili Peppers album, "By The Way?" Strangely, I felt that some of the lyrics and overall sentiment to be very Morrissey-like...not to mention the obvious Mexican influence of the music. Anyone else felt this? BTW, the lyrics of the song are:

Cabron cabron
Cabron cabron

I see you in the park
You're always wearing
Dodger blue
Mad doggin' me and
Anyone from any other crew

I am small but I am strong
I'll get it on with you
If you want me to
What else can I do

Everyone would take a cue
From anything you do
If you want them to
What else can they do

I don't want to fight
I want to get along with you
This time of night's
For singin' songs
About the local news

Cabron cabron
Cabron cabron

I'll come around and make peace
Get down have a barbecue
Let's keep the moon awake
And do electric boogiloo

I am small but I am strong
You see I'm just like you
If you only knew
That I'm just like you

All the world would
Take a cue from
Anything you do
If you only knew
That they're just like you

I don't want to fight
I want to get along with you
This time of night's
For singin' songs
About the local news

Cabron x8

What else can I do
If you want me to
Cause i'm just like you
If you only knew

Cabron x8

I honestly haven't got a CLUE what you're talking about.

The lyrics of the song has themes very common in Morrissey lyrics, such as being the target of bullying, wanting to make peace, and how seemingly different people are generally the same. If you take the lyrics literally, then yes, Morrissey would never write "mad doggin'", "electric boogiloo" and of course, "barbecue". But if you go beyond these superficial phrases, the setting of a park, the notice of another's clothes, and perhaps the underlying homo-eroticism within the lyrics. None of the Peppers are gay, but they have been quite vocal about being pro-homosexuality, much like Morrissey has. Also distinct phrases such as "take a cue" has distant cousins in Morrissey songs, most notably "Certain People I Know". Also the underlying violence of "I am small, but I am strong, I'll get it on with you" has appeared in many Morrissey songs, and the almost whining and hopelessness of "If you want me to, what else can I do".

Perhaps the most telling parts of the influence is how Anthony Kiedis sings the vocal parts of the song. If you get your hands on a copy of the song, you might see what I'm talking about. Morrissey-influence or not, it's still a great song.

You need help!

There is nothing whatsoever in that song, which resembles Morrissey in any way, shape or form!

And I've heard it!!!!

I think you'll find a lot of songs about those themes, but what is it that makes Morrissey so important to people. He might be less popular than Michael Jackson, but it seems he gets the same amount of love by fewer people! My girlfriend missed his concert in London, and she was depressed for a week! haha! Can anyone tell me? She says it's lurv... I hope she loves me just as much.

I don't know about that, but I do prefer that song to the 4 or 5 new Moz songs. I like 'By the Way' quite a bit, and would love to hear Moz do something like 'Cabron' or 'On Mercury' (ha, ha, that would be a great cover), I don't know, I just wanted to see maybe more of the Mex- influence in the music, it doesn't seem to be quite what I had wished for.
