The Guardians Top 1000 album to hear before you die

Yay!
Girls Aloud are in there :D

Best pure pop songs in yonks!

Pornography? Interesting pick. I still follow the mass opinion that Kyle Brotowski was right when he said that Disintegration is possibly the greatest album ever.

We talking Cure albums here? Pornography is the best, bar none; it's certainly the one that I reach for most often. I'd put Seventeen Seconds and Faith second and third, respectively. Disintegration is boring (sorry, Pregs).

EDIT: WTF? Where's Marshall Crenshaw's self-titled debut? Possibly the single greatest summertime album ever made. Yes, even better than The Beach Boys.

See I am a big fan of "One Hundred Years" and actually think it gets better with age (live that is) however Disintegration does it for me as it is the soundtrack to every rainy day I have ever seen.

I can see that, but for me, that role is filled by Zeppelin's "Rain Song."

On a related note, I can't not listen to Faith & Seventeen Seconds repeatedly right about this time of year, every year since 1990. They just drip autumn. I considered starting a thread to discuss what songs/albums remind you of what seasons. Now that I mention it, why don't I? Might as well set it up and then go to bed.

But the obvious one is the right one

Hmmm have to disagree.... I think their choice is the right one. The only reason why it never gets included in any other list polls is due to it being a motley collection of sessions and B-sides (ie not a "proper" LP)

Kyle Broflovski! ;)

LOL - This coming from the girl who was shocked that I could pull the name Mola Ram off the top of my head. Nugz... you funny.
