Default Myrtle Beach gig

well, it was a hit and miss night.

The show had no encore and ended with a Pigsty/How Soon is Now finale after about 65 minutes. Moz said no goodbye or thank you.

hmmmmm.... no big surprises in the set. We had the above mentioned two songs plus Sister I'm a Poet, Ask, and How Can Anybody Know How I Feel, which were not in the BBC show. He sounded strong out of the gate but at the end he was skipping lyrics, which is worrisome.

Not sure what the deal is, but the whole thing seemed Maladjusted Tour-esque, with the lack of closure at the end. I hope he is OK.

I didnt write anythnig down but it went something like this:

skull
mama
this charming man
black cloud
best friend
first of the gang
paris
how can anybody possibly know
seasick
sister
ask
I keep mine hidden
all you need is me
crashing bores
pigsty
How soon is now

I should also mention that before Pigsty, Moz went off to change shirts and Boz and Matt looked genuinely concerned, as if they were wondering if Moz was coming back. I am not saying this to cause unneccesary alarm or concern (just reporting facts; others can back me up), but as a long time fan - one who is heading to Atlanta in the AM - I'm moderatly concerned (and slightly drunk,) if I can be frank.

Hate to say it, but that setlist does not really excite me.It is like the last tour's setlist minus a few changes.

It was not like the last show played at this venue for sure. He played Seasick which was an absolute pleasure to hear. No shirts thrown out. All shirt changes were done back stage. Still it's always good to hear him live.

Well at least there are some gems (I'd pay just to see Charming Man and Pigsty) and hopefully he changes it up a tad as the tour goes on....

I'm assuming he'll throw some different songs in for the overseas show or at least the birthday show. With Morrissey tho, I really shouldn't assume...lol

Long time lurker, first time post here.

Harsh Truth's recap is spot-on. Don't know what was up with Moz, but he was definitely off. The band looked really confused when he ran off stage.

As it was my first Morrissey show, I have to say I was a little disappointed. His voice sounded great until he stopped singing certain lines. Some of the crowd was definitely angry. And they let that anger be known.

Anyways, the night wasn't a total bust - I was making googly eyes with a cute dark haired girl toward the front of the line for what seemed like hours

I LOVE him in jeans, but ...c'mon... are those THE same jeans? Either he owns several pair of the exact same kind or never takes those off.

Did you meet bysshe tonight?

First Of The Gang & Crashing Bores need to be taken out of the setlist... specially Bores

Yay 4 Seasick being played... I bet by the time he comes to play here in Cali after Europe, the setlist will have morphed quite a bit... meaning, we'll be getting the good shit as always down here

Thanks people, I'm concerned too, I hope he gets well soon. Other than that, Seasick, it must've been a great night for you, thanks a lot for the pics. I hope you didn't catch his flu!

And now the big question is:
Do people prefer him to
a) cancel his shows if he is ill (which caused a lot of anger and sadness) or
b) do a concert, do his best for as long as he can even if it then only lasts for 65 minutes (which is above said to have caused open anger as well)?

Definitely A

He needs to get completely well, before he can continue the tour, otherwise people will be dissatisfied with his performances
