    What about Alain whyte?

Agree with you 100%. And it happened twice ! Didn’t M say that the tunes that Alain shared with him during the recent reunion were really good ? Well, we’re still waiting to hear them and to hear the WMTWD album, seemingly littl effort has gone into trying to get it released (of course, I may be...

    What about Alain whyte?

The 2022 UK tour was indeed one of his best ones. It also helped that he was playing theater venues instead of arenas. YA was a great return to form, and Alain provided most of the music, Mick Ronson as producer gave the songs the rough edge they needed. It always makes me wonder what would have...

    What about Alain whyte?

He asked Boz to tell Alain that his services weren’t needed on the recording of YoR. That’s as close as he came to sacking a musician. By contrast, the list of managers that M has sacked is peerless.

Morrissey Central "A RUSH AND A PUSH AND THE MUSIC IS OURS" (April 19, 2024)

It’s been a while since I listened to that clip, but from recollection, it sounded solid.

Morrissey Central "A RUSH AND A PUSH AND THE MUSIC IS OURS" (April 19, 2024)

The snapshot he used to promote his Las Vegas concerts? All I will say is that my favorite version of I am Veronica during the live concerts was the one where Gustavo played some harmonica in the outtro, it added a bluesy vibe to the song (or a bit of Bruce Springsteen?). But it won’t be on the...

Morrissey Central "A RUSH AND A PUSH AND THE MUSIC IS OURS" (April 19, 2024)

Getting the rights to BoT back strikes me as a step in the right direction. It doesn’t mean that a release is imminent though. And I suppose he still can’t release it with Miley’s voice still on I am Veronica? I never quite understood why he never really considered to release WMTWD in the...

You surely heard the recorded versionof *Rebels without applause* ?

New Moz photo by Andrew Quinn - "on Cut Throat Lane"

I love the Yorkshire countryside very much, so I am glad to see Moz spending some time there. And overall it is good to see him stay more often in the UK (as opposed to LA).

    Johnny Marr 2024 UK Tour

It’s great to hear the music played as it was meant to be. His vocals are getting better too, but Morrissey he’ll never be.

Morrissey Central "FRIDAY 26 JULY" (April 13, 2024)

Yes, it does make sense. But the message also mentioned that it would be the occasion to release BWD for the first time in the US (with reissue elsewhere), does that suggest they are targeting US audiences? As noted, Paris will be more than busy with hosting the Olympics this summer, hotels are...

Morrissey Central "FRIDAY 26 JULY" (April 13, 2024)

It will be 41 years of Morrissey. I think Alain Whyte bpcurrent band would be a better source for your first idea. If only we could get both together at one show. But that’s just wishful thinking.

Fretsore Records / YouTube: Dana Gillespie - Spent The Day In Bed (Official video)

I read it as praise for Gustavo. Why on earth should Alain say nice things about Jesse, when at the time of ROTT, none of his vastly superior songs (think pigsty or anybody’s hero) were released as a single, and pretty much the same holds for YoR? And I actually share his opinion: this song was...

Yep, it’s called Msolow for a reason ;) ApTo be fair, there are just as many members here sharing interesting insights and checking the facts before posting. Thankfully.

I also had the impression that his hair is getting thin these days. Anyway, M always had this big forehead and it does show here. I would be surprised that chmotherapy has anything to do with it. I just think that, if ever he were to need chemotherapy (an unpleasant thought but OK), he would...

Record Collector: Jim Reid (The Jesus And Mary Chain) on The Smiths debut album

I had a chance to see Big Country live in the good old days. Just feel very sad about the way it ended.

Record Collector: Jim Reid (The Jesus And Mary Chain) on The Smiths debut album

Love Darklands too and I still have to listen to their new album next month. Will see them live next month. I can see how the Smiths might be too subtle or gentle for them. After all, JAMC music is mostly a wall of sound with no deep lyrics. It doesn’t bother me though.

Sara Gilbert wears The Smiths with Carmen Vandenberg

Some of them keep in touch with each other and that is nice to see. A bit like Alain and Gustavo keeping in touch.

Irish Examiner: Culture That Made Me, with Broadcaster Tony O' Donoghue (March 4 2024)

Smiths more Irish than U2, I don’t know. More original than U2, absolutely.
