I'm bored as f***, my unemployment went through, and I've got sweet F.A. to do today...and for God knows how long. So I'm making some mixes that I'll share with y'all.
Enjoy.

I know there are others that are staring me in the face but I can't think of. Some of these were great. Can anybody think of ones I'm missing?
My only complaint about this LP is that the two (in my opinion) weakest tracks (Ruth and Music) (or, let's not say weakest, let's say the two tracks that don't really fit with the rest of the LP, because I actually do think they're pretty decent tunes by themselves) are right on top of each...
Here are some of my favorite lyrics from the new LP...
"They look at television thinking it's their window to the world. That's got to hurt."
"What carpet-chewer lights up this sewer?"
"If you're gonna kill yourself, get on with it!" Still a f***ing Brit. God I love him.
-The entirety of...
This is a huge collection but there is nothing in here most of you don't have. This is essentially a distilled-to-the-essentials version of the Never Heard Symphonies but including tracks released since the last time I updated the NHS, which was quite a while ago.
The point of this is to be a...
Post 2004 comeback, what are the best songs Morrissey's released if you wanted to sell someone on his post-LA output?
You're allowed up to 20 tracks, out of the roughly 85 or so that have surfaced in that time.
1. I Wish You Lonely
2. The World Is Full Of Crashing Bores
3. Neal Cassady Drops...
What do you feel were the strongest singles (not as in songs but as in total packages; i.e. A-side, B-side(s), art, etc.?
My votes:
-Smiths era
"William, It Was Really Nothing"
b/w Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want and How Soon Is Now
For my money, these three songs sum up...
Revered and reviled on this forum in equal measure. Alternately despicable and delightful from post to post. Deceptive and brutally honest depending on who's asking and what it is they're asking for.
Of course it's the legendary !Viva Hate!.
In her incredible decade and a half as a poster here...
I'm trying to track down all of the V.A. compilations of Smiths and Morrissey tributes.
I'm sure I'm forgetting several but here are the ones I know about:
The World Still Won't Listen
The Smiths Is Dead
Please Please Please
The Queen Is 25
Rockabye Baby
A String Quartet Tribute To The...
I was trying to find a picture of Morrissey where he was in some super gay pose that I find highly amusing and I typed in "morrissey funny" and it didn't yield the pic I wanted but I did find a couple I have never seen before.
I love this album. I always have. Maybe because it was the first one I ever heard, and it was brand new when I discovered him. But I don't think it's nostalgia. I actually really do love the album. And I think that Asian Rut is an interesting song because it's occasionally heralded as proof of...
OK; this was done as a lark. Never loved the album. Loved bits of it. I think the b-sides are stronger than about a third of the record, so I've substituted some album tracks with some outtakes. Moved the sequencing around. Tweaked some songs' superfluous intros/sound effect samplings that annoy...
Hey everyone...
After a question posted here I have decided to to re-organize and re-upload the complete Troy Tate sessions (fixing several tagging/labeling errors in previous uploads (of mine) of this compilation.
As I'm not Hipsterdickso, I want to be explicit that I am in no way responsible...
The official, John Porter produced version of The Smiths' debut LP is a safe, muted, timid whisper compared to what it could have been, given what the band sounded like live. This was evidenced by the prowess captured by BBC sessions of the time as well as the bulk of the Troy Tate produced...
I'm a hardcore Generation Why listener. This one really stands out in the myriad of true crime podcasts. The hosts, Aaron and Justin, are good friends and have a wonderful rapport with each other that lends their presentation a levity and accessibility you will seldom find in other shows dealing...
I've been playing the Autobiography audiobook shared by FWD and it's made me revisit The Smiths' catalog. I didn't need much prodding but, admittedly, it's been awhile.
Favorites for me are:
1. William, It Was Really Nothing
2. Cemet'ry Gates
3. Paint A Vulgar Picture
4. Shakepeare's Sister...
