What the hell is up with this?

Did Moz bless this ad and the use of his song? How could he? They are eating meat in this ad for goodness sake.

What a shame...

  • All that Morrissey cares about these days, is lining his pockets. I don't think personal ethics comes into it anymore. I mean, he has James Dean merchandise to buy, afterall!

What's next Ultimate Fighting and a Budweiser commercial?

  • WTF?! That was a funny country sounding version. I guess if they put up the real Morrissey version, there would be too many macho football fans who would hate it.

  • I recall Iggy Pop's reasoning for licensing his music to commercials: the songs were not conceived with a commercial goal in mind, so what's the harm?

If some advertising drone hears "Everyday is Like Sunday" and decides that that paean to nihilistic despair would make a dandy jingle for a football ad, why waste energy arguing with them?

  • first of all do any of you know anything about the music bussiness? you can't object to someone covering your song. And maybe moz didn't have any knowledge of the cover being used, i haven't seen this ad before today, they could have taken it down. So before you crucify the man like you have so many many times, know what your talking about and leave your vile spouts

  • Morrissey fans once again come out asserting their true "emo" nature with feigned disgust for anything that doesn't fall within their very narrow Morrissey aesthetic.

It must be pretty dull living a cliche.

  • As a huge football fan I can't help but laugh everytime it comes on. The first time I saw it, it made me mad. Now I just laugh it off. Its quite funny.

  • This guy is a bad joke, this is as stands for everything Morrissey claims he hates. He is such a joke, wont play Canada because of seal but will not only play Isreal but lavish praise on the country when it is a human rights violator. Ahhhhh...the hypocrisy

  • anyonee can cover a song and use it however they like. It's when you want to sell that cover version that you have to pay royalties to the artist. You guys actually think he would approve the use of his song for this ad if he had to??? ffs!
