  • He does so fly! What's he talking about? We have airport photos of him.

Aside from my confusion at the Not Flying business this was wonderful. I really found myself enjoying the music he'd chosen as well -- which is unusual for me since the only artist Morrissey and I have agreed on in the past is Klaus Nomi. He chose well. I might have to give Buzzcocks another chance.

Also, he sounded really relaxed and cheerful. I love how easily Morrissey laughs. Sometimes I forget about that.

I hope someone makes this available for download. I must own it.

  • to access music though. Not as easy as he made it sound in that interview. You need broadband and the money to pay for the download if you want to make it legally. Not everybody can afford that. And if you do not have broadband then it takes you ages to download, which also costs. And you cannot watch the videos on YouTube. It is difficult to access MySpace pages, which are overloaded with videos and pictures. And if you are not one of those rich kids, you are one of the people who need good music most, but you cannot afford those high prices concerts. To buy a concert ticket in the UK you have to have a credit card and be the credit card owner. Not everybody has one. Or a bank account with a card. You need internet access to get a hold of prelinks. Not everybody can afford a computer. Yes, access to music is easy. For rich kids.

  • A very delightful guest spot. Thank you, Nic Harcourt and Moz!

It was really cool to hear how much they had in common growing up in England, listening to the radio at all hours, obsessed with music. Commentary on the current state of the music biz is also interesting.

  • I liked the self-parody where he pleaded playfully to be allowed continue being negative about modern music; and then the extreme blithe carping of Noel Coward's song. Morrissey is very clear on the merits of his choice, and why each mattered to him.

    This was enjoyable; thanks.

  • I love'd Morrissey's chit chat, he's always very well spoken, and its fascinating to hear the man himself speak of his inspirations

HOWEVER, he seems to be stuck in the past. He didn't play anything past the 80s. I don't know, I thought the music was pretty boring. Give me something new Morrissey. Also, the songs in general weren't all that great. But alas. *shrug*

  • ..this was very enjoyable. Morrissey seems so much more at ease on the radio, compared to his somewhat awkward interviews on TV. Great selection of tunes that remind all of us of a certain generation, exactly how good some of the music actually was. The last few minutes were a little bizzare; what is Moz on about, when he claims not to fly? He's got to winding us all up!

  • Thanks for the interview - although I think The Courteeners (is that how you spell it?) is just OK, not fantastic, not by far as good as that wave of outrageous bands that sprawled in Manchester in the late 70s, early 80s. I mean, I listen to some Manchester/England bands that send me requests on myspace and I just don't find it as exciting as... The Joy Division, or The Clash, or The Sex Pistols, for example (although I don't know if The Clash is from Manchester, since I lived in Brazil at the time, so I don't know shit).

Buzcocks really sucks (to me, at least) - sorry Moz - they have no spice and no life. I'd rather listen to "obscure" bands such as "Atalhos" (from Brazil), or "Dominique A" (France) or "Surge" (from Spain). I guess that's the problem: I am not too Manchester-oriented... at least not the 21st century Manchester.

But I did like Sparks' Moon Over Kentucky . I'll keep listening and see if anything else catches my fancy.
