The BBC can't even get the facts right

    Stephen
Morrissey was never with Slaughter & The Dogs for a short time. He had an audition to be singer and didn't get the gig.
Morrissey has had 8 solo albums.

And I refuse to pay to vote

    MORRISSEY
" The Smiths happened because I had walked home in the rain once too often."
Stephen Patrick Morrissey was born in Manchester in 1959.

As a child he was influenced by 1960's girl groups, kitchen sink drama and Oscar Wilde.

Before forming The Smiths, Morrissey fronted punk band The Nosebleeds and for a short time was singer with Slaughter & the Dogs.

Together with guitarist Johnny Marr, he formed The Smiths in 1982, and was signed to Rough Trade Record the following year.

The Smiths became one of the most influential bands of the 1980s, but split acrimoniously in 1987.

Since then Morrissey has released ten solo albums and remains one of rock's most outspoken and charismatic figures."

    Totally put me off.

  • Didn't we do all this last year? Or was that "living legend" or was it "the top 100 greatest songwriters" or was it "top 50 greatest indie bands" or "the 10 cardigans worn by pop stars you must own" or the "top 100 singers you must have sex with before you die" or "top 50 singers you must listen to while you die" or "ultimate top 50 records loved by 42 year old psychologists living in Sydney who are married with a child with one on the way despite listening obsessively to the lyrics of 'stretch out and wait' you must hear before you die"?
