  • I just love his quotes ;^)

  • What does she mean, "according to the press release"?

She says that a couple of times...

Does that mean it's not 'directly from the horse's mouth' as he warned us about from the Isle of Wight 05 thing?

Oh jeez. Julia, what's going on? are you here, still hearing from Moz, or not?

    thx

  • "What is classical is what we all agree on, and I think we all acknowledge Hyde Park festivals as important events. I am honoured to be asked to headline on July 4th, marking my 26th year haunting British music, and following the Hyde Park greats - T.Rex, Joan Armatrading, and someone with insecure teeth. I promise a thundering bill of tight nerves and suavity and all your favourites from Disc magazine. I will take Hyde Park like a flea inhabits a dog. Art-hounds and people with badly cut hair are very welcome. I shall do my utmost not to pull a sour face. The sun will make up its own mind. It is, of course, the day when America celebrated its independence from Sidcup, but we can easily reverse that situation with a bit of John Mills stiff-upperness. Bring your own lodging-house towels, but don't expect any three-shrimp appetizers."
    Brilliant!

  • Any word on who else is playing that day?
    Anonymous -- Tuesday March 25 2008, @07:48AM (#298949)
  • But this here shrimp will pass...

Fleas? I assume Lee Scratch Perry is coming then?

Tell you what. Playing a free festival, now that's what would be unusual...Revolutionary, even! ...America will never be independent enough.

  • Yeah, should be blindin', seein him in a great big field with a load of p!ssed up ponsy london wannabee winehouse w*nkers...Woo furking hoo !
Set list should be good aswell...or will it just be the same stuff he's been churnin out for ages! So in a crowd of thousands, about 3 people will know what the songs are!
He must be getting paid a fortune as it will be the same damp squibbage that was the V festival, but i guess as long as it pays enough to keep his freezer topped up with Rib-eye he's a happy bunny!
The only way he can redeem himself is by having a dirty protest on Ken L!vingstones head as an encore...!
Me and Billy are swerving this one BIGTIME.!

  • The only person in my household on O2 cannot go to concert and she needs her phone and sim card on that day. Does anyone know if she can forward the barcode info to another phone in our household or any other way we can do this. You need to log the make, model and number of phone receiving barcode when ordering tickets.
    Hope that makes sense.

  • Just to let you all know - you only need to text from an O2 phone to get hold of a password - once you've got that, YOU'RE FREE TO HAVE THE BARCODE SENT TO ANY NETWORK MOBILE.

I spent all afternoon looking for O2 friends, before realising this was the case. You can actually even have the barcode transferred to different phones should people want to arrive separately.

Clearly the corporate whores do their upmost to aid this confusion... and all the while their brand seeps into our consciousness.

    Hope this clears things up.

  • Said the romantic flea to his flea-ette!

Morrissey’s bon mots had my smile muscles itching all day!

The significance of Sidcup and of John Mills may be explored at these links - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sidcup -- http://www.britmovie.co.uk/actors/m/004.html .

The ‘someone with insecure teeth’ escapes me but several candidates spring to mind.

  • London Moz fanbase (15-20,000).
With other European dates to be announced, there won't be loads of continentals propping up ticket sales (as happened for 18,000 capacity MEN concert in 2004).
It could still sell out (Beck could draw 5,000) especially if there are other well-known bands set to appear on the same day, but really no need to panic-buy.
    Anonymous -- Wednesday March 26 2008, @08:29AM (#299039)
  • why would anyone attend this dire festival?

    Firstly, it is horsecrap.

Secondly, the vulgar Julia claims the even-more vulgar Morrissey will attend 'according to his press release!' (We all know what his 'advert' was worth a year or two back)

Thirdly, Morrissey cancelled a bunch of shows at Camden and disgracefully broke a promise made on his behalf to re-arrange the dates.

Fourthly, Morrissey is now a washed-up parody of the man we once knew and loved.

Fifthly, did I mention that Morrissey is a cunt?

    broken

  • only 95 replies to this item in 6 days? 5 years ago there would have been a hive of activity on this site at the announcement of a new date. I think the whole thing has fallen very flat, people are just bored of it all now. Do you think by default most Moz fans are just getting too old and settled or pre-occupied with daily life to be running around staying in B&B's, drinking all night, all the expense and the like?

  • Mr M,

What on earth are you doing? The very key to your live sets is the intimacy by which you attempt to involve each fan with a keen sense of camaraderie. I am a huge fan, sir.....but make it a point never to go and see anyone I enjoy at a "festival". Why would I surround myself with a large group of people with no interest in music? Oh, and as it's outdoor: every "fan" will no doubt light up and attempt to choke the every life from me. You, sir are more and more becoming the epitomy of that which you mutter to despise. I will wait for the real gigs, hopefully, other fans wil follow suit and bring you back to music and away from the corporate whores.Oh, could you please stop with the trumpet blowing, it does not become a man of your years or stature. I realise I read like an old grump and that may well be accurate but please do not throw away your sincerity and talent for celebrity....it saddens me to witness such behaviour.
