Rhino Records has announced the release of The Brit Box: U.K. Indie, Shoegaze and Brit-pop Gems of the Last Millennium. The four-CD box set (which will retail for $65) is due out October 2nd. Assembled in chronological order, the years covered by each disc are roughly: Disc 1 (1985-1990), Disc 2 (1991-1993), Disc 3 (1994-1995) and Disc 4 (1996-1998.) The set comes in the shape of an English phone box and includes an 80-page book with interviews, essays, and memories from the likes of Alan McGee, Stephen Street, Alan Moulder and various artists.
