Q Magazine's website contains an interesting article about young talent Scott Matthews, complete with downloadable studio cover of "The Boy With The Thorn In His Side."
"Elusive is being reissued on 25 June, backed with alternate versions of tracks from debut album Passing Stranger - plus an excellent cover of The Smiths' classic The Boy With The Thorn In His Side. Stripping away the jangling guitars of the original, Matthews invests the song with the same air of ethereal sadness that made Elusive so moving."

Wait - what am I thinking... I am never pleased, I am always disgisted with everything.
But this was ok and I was able to enjoy it. I must be feeling unwell.

A while back Neil Hannon of the Divine Comedy covered There is a Light... which I heard on the radio this evening and can be sampled here - http://obscuresound.com/?p=543 . It was followed by a very old recording of the poet W.B. Yeats reading his famous poem The Lake Isle of Inisfree, to cue to Morrissey's Irish Blood English Heart. Pleasing little medley in the midst of thunderstorms!
