The new U2 video for Window in the Skies features a clip of a young Moz on stage. The video is comprised of clips of different musical artists. The way the video is edited it looks like all the artists are singing the song.
Moz and U2, love it!

  • that was a great video, very effective in summarizing the so many facets of our planet. Great U2 song too, I hope they put out more like this. At times, they get bland, but when they plunge again into some reflection expressed in video and music, the result is always breath-taking.

    Nice post! :)

  • I am a huge fan of The Smiths and Morrissey. I've seen Moz live three times live (which isn't bad for someone who lives in Finland) and I have a sleeve of Morrissey's shirt he threw to the audience last summer (which sais that I'm quite pathetic :P) I have every Smiths and Morrissey albums.

Queen Is Dead is the best album of the 80's for me, but even though I love 'Vauxhall and I' (I find it better than Viva Hate or Your Arsenal) I think there are at least couple of better ones made in the 90's. The other is Bob Dylan's Time Out Of Mind and the other is U2's Achtung Baby.

Anyway, this Window in The Skies is quite boring.

Almost every track on Achtung Baby or Zooropa is much more interesting or should I just say better than this. But the video is nice.

  • how did they get approval froma all those living and dead artists? Even if you are paying tribute to those artists you have to at least be somewhere near the same level of status and U2 are way off by a long shot! There are a couple of questionable choices in there too. How did Moz say yes to this?

I hope the ghosts of Billie, Joe, Johnny and the rest of these poor souls haunt Bono in his sleep untill he runs of a cliff.
I am so sick and tired of this and I don't care if Morrissey has been friendly with Bono once or twice, there is no excuse for this behavior. He is repulsive in the extreme and always exploiting these starving children from a third world country to look like Messiah. Shoot him, please!

Love, peace and harmony. Very nice, very nice, very nice.

What the hell are you trying to do ? Or is it because you put that thingy on the video that you were allowed to use all those artists footage??? huh??? Simply put: it is despicable.

    Sweet F.A.
  • Okay Bono, you are going to save the worlds starving, so why then do you not, instead of using the £1 Billion equity fund investment through 'Elevation Partners' in a series of money making ventures, to bank roll some useful publicity to expose the reasons for it (Globalisation, World Trade Organisation/World Bank, Imperialist West/Control of Oil)? Oh Christ no, then the machinery that generates the estimated $400million personal fortune of Bono in the next 10 years will be gone!

Ok Bono - saviour of the poor, why invest in what is widely regarded as bible of capitalism of 'Forbes Magazine' (40% buy out at close to £160M)? Hey Bono - they do loads for the poor of the world. You going to close it down? Thought not.

Why not save some poor people rather than have a property portfolio that includes a Villa in the South France, Italian Style Plazzo overlooking Dublin, the £15M Penthouse in Manhattan (12ft Nickel doors and floor to ceiling windows at £40k a piece)? You even bought your neighbours house for £3 million just to link it with your own! Good man, lots of poor people saved so far!

Check out Bonos mates. Go on, Google them!!!

    Steve Forbes (Editor of Forbes magazine 'Bono is an avid reader');
Frank Quattrone - real nice guy
Roger Macnamee Oh - you did a jam session for him at his birthday bash did you not? With a song specially written for the occasion!

Saint Bono, I hope I am all wrong and you have an ultimate quest to use the wealth and power for some ACTUAL good in the world and not just great PR.

    Please please, oh never mind.

  • Come on now...Anybody that says U2 don't belong in the league of many of those featured in the video are not really facing the truth. They are legends and are nearing Beatles status as all-time greats. I put The Smiths in that category too of course. Granted, U2's more recent output is a little too adult contemporary for my tastes, but Achtung Baby is possibly the best album ever. Oh, and Joshua Tree isn't half bad either! Has anyone ever heard some of their more experimental B-sides??? (Alex Decends into Hell, Race against Time, etc..) Brilliant. They have evolved over 30 years and survived, and I give them props. I also respect other people's opinions, but whilst knowing that I am right :)
