"Pete Speaks
After helping fire the SXSW 06 rumor mill due to girlfriend Rachel Fuller's appearance, noted guitar-smasher and Endless Wire auteur Pete Townshend will give the Festival's 2007 keynote speech, panels coordinator Andy Flynn confirmed Tuesday. To accommodate his schedule, Townshend will speak "early evening" Wednesday, March 14, says Flynn, but play some version of his and Fuller's "Attic Jam" songwriter pulls the next day. Besides the widely reported Stooges, other names swirling around SXSW 07 include Rickie Lee Jones, David Byrne, Emmylou Harris, Nettwerk CEO Terry McBride, and Booker T (the musician, not the Houston-born pro wrestler, unfortunately)."
