Just seen this on the NME site. It appears that Andy Rourke and Mike Joyce have signed a record deal:

  • I hope they wind up suing Vinny for more money later.

  • According to Wikipedia(I think), Rourke & Joyce aren't talking.
Apparently Joyce got his hands on some money which a percentage of was supposed to be given to Rourke, Stephen Street & Steve Lillywhite.

Anyone help with info on this?

  • joyce and rourke do not deserve any sort of deal with anyone. rourke was an ok bassist but joyce is a talentless pile of poo that deserves to be gunned down in a hail of bullets.

  • Andy Rourke himself posted on his now defunct message board months ago that he had left Vinnie's band due to the fact that he felt Vinnie had not made good on promises.

Very soon after stories were circulating that Rourke and Joyce had a serious falling out.

  • I'm sure their album will be absolutely Stunning! It's a wonder Sanctuary haven't signed them up, after all, this could be the solution to all their financial woes. Excuse me, I'll have to go, the nurse is here to administer my next dose of anti-psychotic.

True friends stab you in the front.
  • I recently saw a poster (using the album cover of 'The Queen Is Dead') for an Andy Rourke and Mike Joyce DJ set on the (27/28/29th?) May 2006, put up outside Subway in Doncaster. How are the mighty fallen, and obviously only very recently fallen out.
And on the whole, legal, Morrissey / Marr / Rourke / Joyce, who is mental, who isn't, who did what to whom debate, we'll never know for sure; although, there are a few facts to support the case that a certain ex-Smith has gone a bit Squire Falkland on poor old Mozzer.

    Hit singles and all.

  • Mike Joyce was just a bit upset about him not being invited to plays drums with Andy Rourke and Johnny Marr (who are now friends again) at Manchester v Cancer. Andy and Johnny played some Smiths numbers with Johnny singing.
I think Andy Rourke and Mike Joyce are still friends.

  • Andy Rourke still makes money out of The Smiths and Johnny Marr will give Andy the money that is owed to him. I don't think Andy Rourke makes any money out of his Manchester v Cancer charity project!! Andy Rourke makes money for being a radio DJ on XFM-Manchester. Andy Rourke makes money from DJing in indie clubs all round the world and at music festivals. Andy Rourke has even done a bit of teaching people how to play the bass guitar, teaching people about how to make it and survive in the music biz and teaching people about how to be a song writer. Andy Rourke still plays bass in bands from time to time like 'Doghouse', 'Easterhouse', 'Soak the Sin', even with 'Badly Drawn Boy' and Johnny Marr sometimes and of course with 'Freebass'.
I don't think Andy Rourke works with Vinny Peculiar any more.
