Johnny Depp is to present a documentary about James Dean on 27 September on BBC Radio 2. It features a contribution from his one-time neighbour:

"The documentary will mark the 50th anniversary of Dean's death and the BBC said Depp would "highlight the artistic passion that drove this country boy from rural Indiana to become a 20th Century icon. It will include interviews with Morrissey, David Puttnam, Dennis Hopper, Bill Wyman and Sir Paul McCartney."

  • Well, I think it's fair to say, Morrissey would throw a wobbler if he didn't get a say in his hero's life. And we wouldn't want that, because it would affect the album.

  • I can totally (excuse the 80's expression) imagine James blasting Morrissey as he looks over a new prospective script, taking breaks to bang on his bongo for inspiration of the character's motivation in a particular scene. What do u think would be his fav???? Hairdresser on Fire is in my mind.
    Such a shame he didn't have a Morrissey in his time because really Elvis, Lennon or even Dylan can not hold a candle to OUR Morrissey. Hey every generation has their own true love that they hold close to their hearts and Morrissey is soulfully mine.
    I'm enthralled about Johnny doing the interview...sigh....

  • Does anybody have a clue how can I tune to watch (I mean, to listen to) this radio program? I live in Massachusetts, USA. Shall I use the AM radio waves?

  • You are so very pathetic that all you have to do is attempt to make people as miserable as you. You probably don't even care about music either. Just hiding behind anonymous to see your spuge on this site. Why not find a better place to wallow in your self loathing? Like the local dump. Better yet why not just excuse your self from the human race. You obviously were deprived of a few of the basic essentials for normalcy. Like love, friendship and a hero or two. I'm glad Moz and the rest of us had James Dean at least for a while. It is people like you that we could do with out.
