Timi Yuro died in Las Vegas on 30th March. Morrissey named her as his favourite singer in the “Meat is Murder” tour programme, and she sang the original version of “Interlude”.

  • I have Morrissey to thank for putting Timi Yuro in my field of vision. For his "My Top Ten" radio programme he chose "Insult to Injury". It's a wonderful, wonderful recording that wouldn't be half as special if anyone else had been singing. The world is a richer place for having seen Timi Yuro.

  • I think that it will be a relief for her, she'd suffered from throat cancer and she lost her main desire in life, which was to sing because of it. It must have been a nightmare.

  • She was one of the best. I do like "Hurt" a lot, but to me, the definitive Timi Yuro album is "What's A Matter, Baby?" It's incredible. So much hope and pain.

  • Does anyone know the story behind Morrissey's version of Interlude?

    How did he hook up with Siouxie to do this collaberation?

    A line from the book "Watership Down" comes to mind. This was a story about a warren of rabbits.

    When a fellow rabbit died or "disappeared" the other rabbits would say, "My heart is with the thousand, because my frind stopped running today."
    (Rabbits could only count to one thousand.) This was a reference to them having passed on.

    So,
