top choice again,charlie.
Kewpie February 2, 2009, 04:36 PM Thank you very much Charlie. :)
CharlieFairhead February 4, 2009, 12:55 AM My pleasure.
Supporting Snow Patrol i see, i can't blame them in this current climate. As much as i dislike snooze patrol it's a good choice from mr lightsaber or whatever he's called.
CharlieFairhead April 3, 2009, 03:51 PM Their album 'Reservoir' is excellent, you can only get it from their website i think.

Hidden By Rags April 3, 2009, 04:19 PM Hi Charlie, thanks for the update! I like what I've heard.
Haven't read any info on them (haven't looked though.) Have vocal comparisons been made to David Byrne or Arcade Fire? Not meant to be a bad reference in any way, I like both.

I have heard that, and I can somewhat hear Arcade Fire in them,to a slight degree.Just a little.I like Fanfarlo a lot more though. The album is really enjoyable.

A bit similar to both i guess, to be honest like Terence i've never really got into the arcade fire...admired from afar perhaps.
The Fanfarlo album is a refreshing blast of new talent.
Cheers both.
Hidden By Rags April 3, 2009, 09:16 PM They didn't appeal much to me after their first album, which I really like.
Maybe it's that I couldn't stand that British Sea Power were being compared to Arcade Fire, and not the other way around. Not that there was comparison, I still don't see it. Sorry, didn't mean to go completely off-topic...
Fanfarlo's worthy of their own thread. :)
CharlieFairhead September 27, 2009, 03:40 PM Anybody wanna come see Fanfarlo with me in York on Tuesday?

York? Nice little town. We once met the Sarah band
St. Christopher there for a beer...
And Fanfarlo? For me: best new band 2009, and best album so far!!!
If only the way from Germany to York wouldn't be so exhausting... :squiffy:

Oh St Christopher, cool story. Were you in a band too?
The Fanfarlo album is one of my favourites too.
Shame yer can't make it.

Ha i wouldn't be so sure about the great company, adequate at best.
I'm not off now, it was just a spur of the moment thing.

Well i never went Terence as you never popped over.
I just had the night off and lovely York isn't far so i was just debating it.
I am definitely off to see them a week this Friday.

"And American seems an awful long way to go..."
If only I was closer, or was still on my trip east.Next time, I suppose. You will have to get yourself over to York in a month or so, Malcolm Middleton is playing in York in October, I think.
I was mistaken, he plays York in December.
