Yes, I know "they're shite" and all that, but as a longtime fan of Blur they're a pretty good "simulation" with a few of their own tricks.

Anyway, I liked the second album (thought it was underrated), wondering if the third is better. I've only had time to hear the single "never miss a beat" -- liked the low budget video.

I thought they had lots of potential when they first came along and I'd give the first album 7/10. Some excellent songs especially the more reflective ones like You Can Have It All and The Modern Way. Find their shouty stuff a bit grating.
Ruby was a huge choon but the lyrics were awful. The following singles were pretty dire although I quite liked Love's Not a Competition (not sure if a single).
Kids on the Street is a great single - one of their best; sharp, funny and punchy, but the latest single Good Days, Bad Days is absolute pants and has put me off getting the album (despite pretty good reviews).
They have some excellent songwriting skills both musically and lyrically but they rely too much on the synth and electric guitar combination, and the shouty vocals. Latest album has done very poorly commerically and the tour's not selling well so they might struggle to turn things around...

His singing voice is a matter of opinion but some of their songs are set to fantastic pieces of music with some great chorus melodies.
Also, there is humour and observation in their lyrics, something that Morrissey seems almost incapable of these days.
What music do you like other than Smiths/Morrissey?

Artists I listen to most are Supergrass, Drive, Joanna Newsom, Squeeze, Smiths, The Cult. All sorts of stuff.

Admittedly I used to like them when I was a bit younger in the 'I predict a riot' days :o but, these days their lyrics just kill me

Anyone looking for 2008's "Off with Their Heads," Private Message me and I can hook you up with a Rapidshare link.

Please do support the band, they're better than a lot of bands out there today.
