I've suggested it numerous times.

I would like to have a forum where anything goes.

It would be completely unmoderated.

If you complain about a post in it other than personal info/photos being posted you are banned.

If you troll or bait people in the rest of the forums you get banned.

I've seen a lot of pretty sad behaviour the past couple days. Far too many posts about rape and pedophilia and just people insulting each other.

If people want to do that, they should be able to but the trolling of each other should be kept all in one place so that conversation and information exchange can be the norm everywhere else on the board.

It's nice and simple for everyone.



In addition to the above, just remind you that NO obscene graphic images (full frontal nudity and genitals) are allowed to ALL the forums.
This rule also applies to usage of spoiler tags


There are some under-age forum users, I strongly advise them not go to the pigsty.

Please do not quote obscene images posted by other user when you post a reply.

The only possible point to that sub-forum would be as a good way of rounding up all the parasites, then banning the lot in one go. Otherwise; it's just giving them carte blanche to insult others with no right to reply. If that's considered a 'solution' I'm glad no one on here is in charge of anything more dangerous than an internet connection and presumably, a very dull social life.

But you don't have to post in there to be insulted. You could not even post in there and be harrassed, and if you are harrassed you can't report it. That doesn't seem right.

everyone is adjusting so that is why glu was given a timeout instead of a ban.

I do agree that Mary is creating an imbalance. She isn't targetting her comment but she offfers no way for people to respond so I am going to ask that those things stop even though I don't think she is trying to bait people.

Look Mary, I know we have not gotten along very well recently but I agree that threads like that shouldn't be allowed. I don't see why it's acceptable to have a thread like that around. You have a point, you've been around here a while and for the most part I like your posts (until recently, but we'll agree to disagree) and I don't think it's okay for someone to post that about you. Yes I know I used the term "sandy vagina" before but that was more for humor's sake and not to hurt you.

I understand the point you're making, but the way that seems to end up working out is that either the person in question answers back, which ends up keeping the thread going when they might prefer to hope it fades away, or just has to deal with the fact that people are posting some quite horrible crap about them (just because it's not falling on your eyes and ears doesn't make it not matter. It's very hard to sit back and let people chat shit about you even if you know that answering back will create more problems).

I was under the impression that flame wars generally involved people who were happy to be involved in them. It's not ideal that people are being baited like this, is it? Hopefully you're right and it will all settle down. I hope that happens soon.

I think the Pigsty is a bad idea in practice. It invites bullying. Anarchy never works, solely because most people cannot be trusted to behave in the manner they'd like to be treated. It's far better to have a liberal set of rules and demand a basic level of decency.

I think this term "Bullying" is overrated.

I think bullying is when someone takes your lunch money or gives you a wedgie or takes your bike and doesn't give it back for 2 hours.

The pigsty is a way to separate people who want to have normal conversations from those who just want to cause trouble.

It's still experimental and it might go away but right now it is new and it takes time to adjust to change. It is constantly being evaluated and people's opinions are definitely being considered.

Actually it's really mild in the pigsty. When they try to be bullys it's like a joke and they end up laughing at each other's attempts to be all pigstyie. So really it's a place where people can use cuss words and complain about moderators. Since the moderators themselves seem to be doing the complaining the whole thing seems weird like an awkward orgy or something.

i think that's because the majority of people who choose to post in there are just 'avin a laff. the only people who really seem to get all bent out of shape about stuff, or extremely derogatory or offensive in their responses, seem to be on a "break" right now.

I think the chat was a much better venue for trolling, since it's completely separate from the forum. If you don't want to participate, you simply don't go there.

People have been given a no holds barred place to post and they are expected to use it. If a thread is started that belongs there it could very well be moved but the creator and any contributors will be banned but the targets will then have a chance to respond if they want.
