View Full Version : How Obama can thank me for my vote.
Oh my god, it's Robby! November 5, 2008, 11:57 PM http://media.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/photo/2008/08/21/PH2008082102169.jpg
so Obama won, good, but whatever positive things come of that i have no control over
but all he needs to do for me to be happy he is prez is get us out of iraq by 2010
and this is important, let any Iraqis who want to come here do so*
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y86/gulrober/funny/sb.jpg
all the lessons of the Vietnam war and its aftermath need not be lost
Iraqis deserve to come here and be treated with respect, not racism
then maybe someday when a white American boy meets a nice Iraqi-American girl :sweet:
they will not have to deal with as much fear, suspicion and negative influences from their families as those of us that came before them had too :o
*=the USA has currently only given a handful of Iraqis visas to come here, but over 100, 000 are employed by us and that is not counting the 'new Iraqi Army'
Dave November 6, 2008, 12:14 AM Let any Iraqis who want to come here? I disagree with that proposal. I don't understand what the purpose would be.
Oh my god, it's Robby! November 6, 2008, 12:27 AM Let any Iraqis who want to come here? I disagree with that proposal. I don't understand what the purpose would be.
not willy nilly like, but right now, almost none are, even those that have suffered for their support of the USA
the question instead should be about how much can be allowed entry within reasonable cost amounts
say the most 100, 000 'deserving' not breaking up immeadiate families or something
i mean Sweden has already taken over 40,000 refugees from Iraq since 2004 and we have accepted less than 1000
thats despicable, these people are those that have lost the most by this war
and the defenders of the war here use them their name all the time
but they seem to be always left behind by us :tears:
Dave November 6, 2008, 12:38 AM well, supposedly  the war was to bring them freedom. oh wait, it was to find weapons of mass destruction. certainly it wasn't to restructure the economy of an entire nation privately by friends of our glorious leaders and then rake in many billions of dollars in profit.
anyway, I still see a philosophical problem. all this money we spent bombing and rebuilding Iraq for totally selfless reasons should count for something. How many bombs did Sweden drop?
oye terence November 6, 2008, 12:48 AM anyway, I still see a philosophical problem. all this money we spent bombing and rebuilding Iraq for totally selfless reasons should count for something. How many bombs did Sweden drop?

Well then, you should support accepting Iraqi refugees into America. Their food is delicious!
Corrissey November 6, 2008, 02:36 AM He can get my girls a puppy. (yeah, kinda far down on the To Do list) :)
Dave November 6, 2008, 08:29 AM When a new President takes office do they have to change the locks?
nogodsnomasters85 November 7, 2008, 05:59 AM He can pull out of Iraq, he can observe interrnational laws and end the foolish Cuba embargo, and join the rest of the world in condemning Israeli human rights violations, and stop militarily supporting dictatorships and terrorist groups like the anti-castro terrorists in miami, he can sign the FISSBAN treaty, our greatest protection against nuclear catastrophe, create a national healthcare plan, to embrace clean, sustainable energy over nuclear power and "clean coal" (which is made up anyways.), boost tuition aid for poor and working class families, and use public works projects (Ideally building windmills, and such.) to provide blue collar jobs, increasing taxes on capital gains, and taxing companies for pollution, beefing up regulation on the private sector especially regarding dividends and high risk securities, while creating economic incentives for sustainability and keeping jobs in the country, slash the bloated defense budget the largest source of federal waste which exceeds the military budgets of Russia, India, China, and Britain COMBINED!!!, and work on creating fair and equitable trade policies with other nations. Thats' what I'd like.
MunchyBrain November 7, 2008, 08:07 AM We brought them freedom, just like we've got here, where the majority of the people have to live their lives in fear.
iamkali November 7, 2008, 04:10 PM good question.....will Bush take the light fittings or the fridge etc.
LOL, I think that the Clinton Admistration played a joke for W- they basically (I have no solid proof) they fucked up the W on the keyboard and Dubya was not amused. Well, he's never been amused.:D
sistasheila November 7, 2008, 05:11 PM he also will close down Guantanamo.FINALLY!
".As President, I will close Guantanamo, reject the Military Commissions Act, and adhere to the Geneva Conventions. Our Constitution and our Uniform Code of Military Justice provide a framework for dealing with the terrorists."

Robby, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

The difference is that Billy Madison was actually funny.
Half_a_Person January 21, 2009, 12:42 AM Having Obama as President doesn't make me just proud of me being a Democrat, but it also makes me very proud of my heritage and my country.:D
Cassius January 21, 2009, 01:10 AM Apparently some cool shit went down.
Oh my god, it's Robby! March 5, 2009, 12:06 PM ok, some sh*t has come to my attention since i asked obama to have us leave affie
f that noise, we need to conquer
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/c/c2/FATA_(8).jpg
these "tribal areas"
these pashtun scumbags now control the heroin trade and are able to buy better and better weapons
basically fall affie, fall paki
we cannot have that
we need boots on the ground
and expanded intel gathering :thumb:
this cause is noble, just and true
& just what the American military was built for
just rotate battalions out on a company by company basis
and add 4 CDs
we can win this war! :flamethrow:
Shaw March 5, 2009, 12:08 PM The USA will never win a war in that region of the world because they do not grasp the idea of communicating with locals. As a result they have no idea where the Afghans are at the moment while they try and kill them somehow from miles away. Same will happen in Pakistan, same people, making the same mistakes, over and over again

2 months ago, i would have agreed with you, but it has gone unreported in the media that obama is redefing a lot of that
handlers have been sacked
people status is being reviewed
its the largest scale shake up since clinton/bush sr messed things up in the post cold war early 90s
as for pakistan, it falling is not an option
they have nukes
and well, it would be nice if that corrupt bastard Karzai(mainly because he is seen as "pro-India") were gotten rid of
we need a tribal chieftain who did not deal drugs to run affie, and support him
but what i(and obama) should be more interested is the tribal pushtun area on both sides of the border, these people need to be conquered
i know the brits would want to help, hell, they sent you guys packing more than once in the last couple of centuries :p

Then you should have voted for Nader. That basically is his entire platform to a tee.
Ralph? Is that you?
bored March 5, 2009, 05:43 PM Obama can't thank me because I didn't vote for him.
A person that I find rather interesting is Peter Schiff... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_Schiff
I don't believe in the bailouts of any kind and I think the market should be allowed to correct itself.
He talks about how the bailout delays the inevitable but does so at the cost of the trillions of tax dollars being spent and when there isn't enough tax dollars to go around the US will just print more money creating inflation and in the process devaluing the dollar.
He believes the way to get out of the recession is by supporting American businesses, not banks, and that helping people get credit is not the answer because credit is something you use as an extension of savings. So he is a proponent of saving rather than borrowing.
I oppose the idea of the governments owning businesses. Government can't even keep its own house in order, how are we supposed to believe they can run a bank or a car manufacturer?
Ralph Nader would not have bailed any of these companies out. For a long time I always thought he was not running as a Democrat because he just didn't want to be part of politics as usual but now that I see how he differs from them, he really is a centrist.
Part of me is very centrist and part of me is very libertarian. Obama is neither of these things.
Bush said he wanted to be the president for change.. and he was.. he got elected and he changed into a democrat.
Obama is the president for change.. and he's changing the country from capitalism to socialism.
The Seeker of Good Songs March 5, 2009, 06:53 PM Obama is the president for change.. and he's changing the country from capitalism to socialism.

While I don't own a gun and have no interest in owning one, I do support 100% the right for people to own them.
Since the government is by the people and for the people they should have the same rules as the people.
If the government can make a rocket, anyone should be able to make and launch a rocket.
If the government can have a tank, anyone should be able to have a tank.
I do not believe in empowering people in a way that I cannot empower myself.
