View Full Version : Kings Of Leon Thread
IDon'tOweYouAnything23 November 5, 2008, 07:21 PM Well I've been a fan of them of years, they're one of my favourite bands :guitar:
Only by the night came out recently, anyone going to see them tour? Opinions of them? :guitar:
IDon'tOweYouAnything23 November 6, 2008, 02:28 AM No one's a fan of them? :(
I know they've been going for years but I thought they deserved their own thread :o
Corrissey November 6, 2008, 02:34 AM I like them :) Aha Shake Heartbreak is a great CD. I have yet to get their new one *kicks ass into gear* and I love Sex on Fire. I've read mixed reviews of the new one, but it won't stop me from buying it. Yes, I still buy CD formats. I am old ;) but it's what I prefer.
Followill Frink :)

;)Aha shake heartbreak is one of my favourite CDs :guitar: Their new one; only by the night is a grower, I particularly love the song 'use somebody' and 'Cold desert' , check it out ;)
Hey, i sometimes still buy CDs, it makes the purchase feel more official :o
Corrissey November 6, 2008, 03:03 AM Totally tangible & "official" :D
!!! I just found out they will be here at the House of Blues on January 24! Great place to see a band. I'm checkin that out! And it's a benefit/silent auction concert for the U of Chicago Comer Children's Hospital :)!

You've got to see them, more so since it's for a good cause ;) Their playing in my home city soon, I missed out in getting a ticket, still trying to negotiate one off of someone :o
j0wled November 6, 2008, 08:10 AM I used to find it hard to work up too much interest in them, despite being "pretty good", but I've really fallen for Sex on Fire. I'm reinvestigating.
16ClumsyAndShy November 6, 2008, 08:52 AM I've loved them ever since I was 13. The first two albums are my favourites, but to be fair I've listened to them a hell of a lot more than the last two. I really want to see them live. I've seen some videos and they're amazing. And it helps that they're so goddamn good looking. :P
speedfreaks ball November 6, 2008, 07:28 PM been a fan since 2004, red morning light is prob in my all time top 10 and king of the rodeo not far behind

Sex on fire has got people who have never heard of KOL listening, purely becasue it has the word 'sex' in it, they're not real fans! :p I believe you, infact I agree with you ;) some of the album tracks on Aha shake heartbreak and the other albums are way better than the promoted ones, and imo, 'use somebody' is far better than sex on fire :guitar:

I think my negative relationship with taht song partially stemed from waking up at 3am to hear a drunk screaming 'Youuuur Youur Sex is on Fiiiiiire' outside of my window, he continued that line for half an hour

There's no reason for anyone to go there :( The only thing it's got going for it is, it was mentioned in what she said

only he know's why he said that. you throw birkenhead in with the likes of middlesbrough, scunthorpe, most of west yorks, and humberside as shockingly grim places:mad:
billybud71 December 27, 2008, 08:12 PM Can someone post something by kings of leon? I want to sample their music.

Raised on prisoner's aid December 27, 2008, 10:29 PM I adore them.
Personally I think their latest 2 albums are better than their first ones, which is probably a very unpopular opinion.
Knocked Up though....what a song...
miryam_moz85 December 29, 2008, 01:18 PM well..they're here in cologne (Palladium) in february.. think i will buy a ticket..but never watched them live..by now..

jesuisbryony December 29, 2008, 01:23 PM I listened to the new album the other day, by jove it was boring.

CharlieFairhead December 29, 2008, 06:09 PM Not my cup a tea but far far superior to so called other rock bands like the awful Razorlight.
The KOL frontman has a look of Bryan Adams with his hair short, better skin mind.
Crash into my arms December 30, 2008, 02:28 PM I prefer their older albums. I saw them live twice (Paradiso in Amsterdam about 6 years ago and some time ago at the Lowlands Festival in the Netherlands) and both times it was very good.
Absurd January 3, 2009, 03:32 PM I don't get them. I'll give their new album a listen at some point.
