I've got a sudden, all-consuming hankering for some of these...

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3124/2846809770_6a1f14f202.jpg

Anyone else got a sudden urge to get something to eat that's a little odd? Looks like I'm sleeping in the spare room tonight.

Peter

By the way, Croatia 1-4 England, Walcott hat-trick. Nice.

have you been drinking again Uncle Petey?

I have never had one of those BTW.

I have not been drinking, on the wagon, old-bean, what with the credit-crunch and all. No, just high on nature's onions. And as for the guff, nope, never had a problem there. However the lentil curry at lunchtime, and falafel at tea-time may contribute. Ah, the benefits of a high-fibre diet.

This is why I like you :) I once ate a whole (small) jar of green olives in college as a snack. I had the munchies. :o:D

I get hankerings all the time for chips and salsa. When all that's left in the chip bag are broken pieces, I throw them into a jar of salsa and eat it with a spoon. :)

Surely some old timers remember this: Grim could use it for his theme song. ;)

Elotes? They're not just in Tijuana; you can find elote carts wherever there's a large population of Mexican immigrants.

Don't forget that the mayonnaise is usually room temperature, in violation of health codes everywhere.

Road trip! :D

You wouldn't happen to have any details on the celebration, would you?

I just heard a blurb about it on NPR this morning. It's supposed to be a year-long festival, culminating in a reenactment of Poe's 1849 funeral (come to think of it, Anaesthesine would totally dig that). I am so there. I'll try to find more about it.

I can't think of anything other than sandwiches right now. I'm craving them and keep eating them. Last night I made a southwest style veggie burger on this fantastic toasted rye bread, sharp cheddar, tomato, avocado, honey mustard, and ketchup. It was FANTASTIC.

Over the weekend though I managed to make it to Cherry Valley deli in NY and had the greatest most bad for you sandwich ever! On a hero (or hoagie roll like normal people call it), chicken cutlet, cheddar cheese, bacon, onion rings, gravy and ketchup. That's what happens when it's 2am and I've been drinking copious amounts of alcohol.

I could talk about sandwiches all day.

Sainsbury's product is called tortilla chips.
I'll get some tomorrow.

Well we have those too, but in America corn chips (I think) are generally referred to as "Fritos." They're really thick and especially greasy. :o

Actually I have a thing about frozen pizza, in that I LOVE it. My latest obsession in this realm...

I feel the need to have something so very random. A mac and cheese sandwich. But not just any mac and cheese, the cheeseburger mac and cheese from Smac in NYC. They mix mac and cheese with some meat (sorry veggie peeps) and you top it with mustard and ketchup. That on some nice wheat toast sounds AWESOME right now.

I am craving carbs and junk food due to the dang south beach diet. I hate you south beach!!!!

Yes I agree that soft pretzels > first borns. Good thing I don't have any borns so I won't need to worry about that trade haha.

And I really like the horseradish mustard on the pretzel braids they have with the "everything" on it like everything bagels. Yum!

Bump b/c I'm a fat kid and always thinking about food... :o

I really really really want a pita with falafel and hummus, some garlic type sauce, and fresh veggies like cucumbers, tomato, sprouts etc. I would give anything to have that for lunch today but nooooo! I work in the stupid suburbs where you can't find anything like that at the drop of a hat. Boo!!! :(
