I wasn't aware of that, thanks for posting it, I enjoyed that!! I'm not right keen on the RAGE cover, but I thought that was smashing. Gonna see him and the band for the first time at Old Trafford next month, can't wait =).

Oh and good call on the St. Vincent too!

I went to see Brucieeeee at Leeds, Roundhey Park in 1985.

'Born To Run' remains one of my favourite songs of all time and 'The River' is a favourite album:guitar:
Though not heard much stuff post 'Nebraska'.

I really, really, really like him. He's so great. I'm going to see his two shows here in Gothenburg, Sweden this summer.
It will be the first time for me, and I can tell already that it will be great in one way or a ton of others. I'm longing!
They played the tour premiere of "Independence day" the other day in Dallas by the way, which is a song I really get moved by (especially the simple line "And soon everything we've known will just be swept away"),
and that put my hopes up a tiny bit for the possibility of him/them playing it in Gothenburg. I will make a paper sign.

I'm a lyric man, that's why I love Dylan, Marley, Springsteen amongst others. The music may not be to my taste, but the lyrics are.

The Smiths were the first band to come along that had the lyrics AND the tune:guitar::guitar:

anybody hear about springsteen showing up and playing a few songs with mike ness at a show in new jersey?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OHqeeJ48EdE

that's the only video of it i could find, shame the quality kinda sucks. it's weird to see springsteen in such a small venue though.

the songs they played together were

Misery Loves Company
Ball and Chain
If You Leave Before Me
I Fought the Law

I love Springsteen nearly as much as I love Morrissey.
The guy is fucking incredible. There are few people on the planet that could make albums as perfect as Born To Run and Darkness on The Edge Of Town.

Off to see him next weekend in London! Sadly means I have to set foot inside Arsenal's stadium but anything for The Boss! :guitar:

Let me just start by saying I know almost nothing about Springsteen. However, one of my friends from college is obsessed with him, and I was wondering what the general opinion on here is? From what I've been reading on the Net he seems to be quite intensely disliked (similarly to Phil Collins and even Bono), and I can't really see a reason for it. Then again, I've only heard "Dancing in the Dark" and "Radio Nowhere"...

I love Brucey!

go out and buy the album "Born to Run." He's had some cheesy moments, but i think 70's Bruce, especially, is really great stuff. :)

Springsteen is a legend. He was almost my answer to PT's 'best American band' ;) I frankly haven't heard anyone complain/diss him myself. One of my concert dreams would be to see him play in Jersey :guitar: He/they have soooo many great albums. It's American Rock and Roll at its finest. Bruce is da BOSS

Haven't listened to it yet. I guess I'm afraid I will get too frustrated about not being able to attend any shows this year if I listen to it and happen to really like it, since they're sold out in Sweden, and also I don't have enough money to go.
I saw him live for the first time two nights in a row in 2008, and it really was an amazing experience. He put my request sign in front of his mic stand while performing "Independence day", which was a special moment for me.

Love the new album, Outlaw Pete...what an epic intro..quite cinematic, could anyone hear traces of Thunder Road at the end of it?
Saw him last year at the Emirates and will see him again in June at the Hyde Park.

about 10 springsteen songs made the cut onto my ipod for this trip :thumb:
i find that songs like "Born to Run" always give me an extra little burst of energy when climbing those hills :)
and "Ghost of Tom Joad" is good for my quiet usually solitary wanderings :blushing:
