that song recently has turned me into a Southpaw Grammar lover. i hated the album before, but listening to him sing "i turn the music down but i don't know why - this is my house" makes me want to listen to it entirely too much

There Is A Light That Never Goes Out should have been released in 1985 or 86 as the first single off TQID. With the right promotion that could have easily been a #1.

P.S. Although First of the gang to Die was a single off YATQ, I reckon it should have been the first single off it, before the album was released. Again, I reckon that if this was Mozza's comeback single it would have been a #1, certainly.

Somehow I think that no matter how amazing a sleeve designed by one of us is, Moz would rather have a more authorative say in his own sleeve design, as Moz-solo users aren't the ONLY Moz fans. (Albeit, they are some of the best! :) )

There Is A Light was released as a single, but I believe it could have been marketed sooner than it was. They split up in 1988 right?

I've not actually listened to any non-single songs by The Smiths or Morrissey going it alone. But I like how his solo stuff retains a similar taste.
