hah aaa. The title of this thread makes me laugh, which is very un-emo of me. :D
I moved countries for 'love'....to a town of 5,000 people in the middle of nowhere.
BIG MISTAKE.
Fortunately, I've now managed to block most of it out.

its not that bad. you just have to have the right attitude about it. my SO and I said if we decided we didnt like each other anymore, we'd divorce. well, that hasnt happened yet and some of our friends have married and divorced in the last 7 years we've been together!
you arent asking for advice but let me tell you, you're going to question yourself from time to time, its normal. but you'll find reasons that support you didnt make a mistake, and you're glad you got married (as long as there isnt manipulation going on and there's decent communication in your relationship).

At sixteen I wrote sheafs of really godawful poetry for a girl. The poems themselves weren't all that emo, it's just that they were...y'know, poems.

Oh i do the same.
Writing poetry about how you hurt you are and then locking it up in your diary for noone to ever lay their eyes on. The story of the last five years of my (love) life.

Nothing. I don't believe in "love" and I'm not a moron. I put myself first, as it should be.

WELL I sat like a little bitch with a pissed off crab in my hand waiting for it to stop pinching me instead of smashing it against the wall cos I love it. That counts right? I got pretty emo over scaring it, cos I must have to get it to draw blood.

I, too, wrote poetry for years on end, exclusively to the same girl. I'm extremely glad to say we are now in a relationship. She still expects poetry, but it's a small price to pay for dating the most beautiful woman on the planet.
Why do I get the feeling I've just purged this thread of its emo self-pity and loathing? :p

We should have a 'Smug and Gloating Relationship Happiness' thread for us and others of our ilk, if only to go against the Morrissey fan stereotype.
But mostly just to make everyone else feel like shit. :p

Well, I well and truly prostrated myself at the altar of love
for many years when I was married,
but probably one of the worst things was going
in to buy drugs when I didn't even take them,
for my lazy partner who was too paranoid to leave his
car........

Because you start a new line after every 5 words or so, everything you write looks like a stanza of poetry. This one worked pretty well!

Local History
Emo Court
Emo Court demesne is the second largest walled park in Europe, after the Phoenix Park in Dublin. The parkland surrounds Emo Court, a neo-classical mansion designed in 1790 by James Gandon who is best known for two buildings in Dublin; the Custom House and the Four Courts. The architecture reflects
that of ancient Greece and Rome; at the entrance, four ionic columns support a pediment. Gandon designed the building and its grounds for the first Earl of Portarlington. Visitors can enjoy walks through
the demesne which includes the longest avenue of Wellingtonia (Sequoiadendron giganteum) in Ireland.
A wooded area called the Clucker features azaleas and rhododendrons. The Grapery contains unusual trees including weeping beeches and Corsican pines. There is a 10 hectare ornamental lake with an ornamental temple beside the sluice gates.
