The oldest one is me. I missed Moz because I was way too old to listen to pop music, I was 20 when Florrie Forde's Take Me Back To The Dear Old Blighty was at top of the charts. I still remember seeing her at TOTP.

Can't have been as bad as the chick I was standing behind at the Hammerstein. She kept letting off little bombs all night long. I would have scooted to the side to get away from her, but she was really short and I could see over her head easily. Not giving up second row behind a short person for anything. I made up for it by inhaling deep lungfuls of that delicious Gucci pour Homme + Avignon Mozscent whenever he came over our way.

I'm not quite as old as NRITH. :D

About a year younger. That's something, and I'm clinging to it.

I first heard of the Smiths just after they broke up... just in time for Viva Hate. Oh, god... it was twenty years ago this month. Right about this time of year. I think I should have some sort of ceremony. Light a candle, sing a song, buy a bottle of Avignon and spray it on myself while I weep about the passing of time, and all of its sickening crimes. And drink. I will definitely drink.

I could send Moz a thank you card, or a thank you email on this auspicious occasion. But alas... the court order prevents me attempting even a thoughtful gesture like that. Apparently I ogled too much in Merrillville and alerted suspicions. Don't know why Cozza didn't get a restraining order too, I didn't get to talk to him or anything... :D

I purchased "Strangeways" upon release when I was 14. My best friend's brother was explaining what an event it was. We knocked off school and walked...and walked......and walked to the local record shop and each bought a vinyl copy. What he did not translate was that they had already met their demise. I took the record home and listened to both sides perhaps 4 times. I was hooked and was very saddened to learn that the four were done..............aaahhhh the memories.

I am closer to Morrissey's age than most on here and what amazes me when I've been to gigs and Smiths/Morrissey nights is that I always seem to be about the oldest there. I would have expected more people my age, but no, my partner and I seem to be the oldest. At the Star & Garter in Manchester last year everyone was so friendly and made a fuss of us like we were some middle aged celebrities. It was quite strange but very nice. Also when I went to see The Smyths, the crowd were mainly teens and twenty somethings and students with Smiths t-shirts on. It fascinates me. The band were laughing at me and my partner throwing ourselves around like idiots. I think it is great that this new generation is growing up to like the best music there has ever been. Good on you!!!

You know that Don Vito (Of Jackass and Viva La Bam fame) is on ten years of "serious" probation for attemtping that test?

I would hyperlink but have to use an AOL explorerer and that is simply not going to support two open windows.

LOL - I get asked at every family gathering why I will not get married. After the relationship where I was >< that close to getting married I really cannot see me going anywhere near that again.

I actually posted my ideas on the matter but ... why stir up trouble? I deleted them. After all I do not like to involve myself in such matters. I spent posts 1001-2000 stirring the pot. I figured 2001-3000 will be spent having some goofy fun.

What does being 40 have to do with getting married? (well, other than the obvious) and that your family blows you shit about it (I understand) Well, if I were to ever divorce -not saying I want to or would- I would probably not re-marry again (tho my P's did). Even my DH sez that. We're old. What's the point. hahaha... Well, Buzzy, never say never that you won't get hitched -- cuz you never know... till then, get a puppy and take him to the family gatherings :D awwwww (distraction!)

Well, you have to admit that that's largely because there's not much else going on here right now. :D

OMG I just noticed you got rid of Hello Kitty! :( :tears: :(

:p I know, but that's too easy since I'm a HKaholic. Just sayin', but your changing avatar pics are getting confusing! I've forgotten what your original one was that you had forever!

And then 62 since then.

I vow never to have a Morrissey avatar.

No, because they're friggin' tedious, and nobody's swayed by the other side's arguments anyway.

No, but it definitely makes me wanna punch you in the face. Not you personally, but most of you.

Didn't you have something before the tabasco?

 I hope not me! :tears:

I just went home to visit my parents in Hawaii because my cousin was getting married there. Hawaiians love their meats (and I'm vegetarian now), so all week long I heard everyone tell me to "just take the meat out" or "eat around the meat!" When I asked the flight attendant on the plane if they had anything without meat she handed me a sandwich and said, "you just gotta take the turkey out!" (I threw it back at her head when she said that.) I'm not a crazy vigilant vegetarian, so I thought it was funny (annoying, but funny). People in California don't say these things to me...they understand that life can exist without spam! :p

Okay, that's gross. It's all about mutual respect, you know. ;) I would never put any vegetarian through such situations.

I'm 15. Is that the youngest?
I've liked Morrissey since I heard Irish Blood, English Heart probably in 2004 and The Smiths since ... summer 2006 but I've remembered songs from earlier in my life that have turned out to be by them (if that makes sense).
Now, my life revolves around Morrissey, which is always a good thing.

I was born three days after Morrissey gave the infamous 'Madstock' performance.

This is one of the few times I've not been the youngest member of a forum.
