How was last night? Anyone get up to anything particularly exciting? I went out in Durham, it was good but quite standard really - however I was in very good company so all in all it was a good (yet alas, expensive) night.
I don't feel too clever today however.

I knackered me back, and now I'm in agony. On some space dust for the pain, and x-rays tomorrow. Oh what a jolly time. That's the S&G out this week. Bollocks.

Aww, poor thing, get well soon! :) I had an accident on Christmas day so I know what you feel ;)

It was okay, nothing overly special...went to a friend's houseparty.

I don't know....I find New Years really depressing. Does anybody else? Or am I a weirdo? ;)

No, you're not. One always expects more. :)

Hubbi was gigging out of town (he's a comedian), and the kids were too partied out after a hectic holiday week for me to even consider keeping them up a little late (I'd told them over the weekend that "at 9:00, it turns into 2008!" so I wouldn't get stuck with two sleep-starved monsters up at midnight), so I spent the evening eating a little chocolate, watching a little "Top Gear" on BBCAmerica, then watching three Kathy Griffin stand-up specials in a row. I was in bed by 12:30. This was all fine by me; I'm not a big New Year's person, aside from making resolutions and setting goals, which I do in ridiculous amounts.

Wishing all a happy, healthy, prosperous and peaceful 2008.l

hmmm..yeah, there's is that, you're right. But it's something else too. Can't put my finger on it.

I had a good night - GREAT party, lots of friends there...I don't know, what it is. It's more to do with New Years itself rather than how my night was.

Hope everyone here had a great NYE :)

Hardly did a thing. My wife isn't well, my son slept out and daughter was on msn all night. I watched The Shawshank Redemption in it's entirety and it was just perfection, so I'm not complaining. Watched a bit of the Jools Holland hootenanny, which was good and had a few beers.

I have no idea - although it might have had something to do with a hill climb last week, almost vertical, and the subsequent descent. I have some Tramadol from my leg op last year, by gum they are good at keeping the pain away and me in a carefree state.

I may yet make an appearance...

*wonders if it is possible to die from a hangover* we went to a house party, was overall good but a bit sad, so I drank my own body weight in vodka and went to bed after the sun came up :D all things considered, not bad at all.

An old man fell from a monroe in Scotland the other day and died. You should be careful. It's a nice picture of you walking in Last of the summer wine territory.

Sounds like if you do die. Your body will survive in a pickled stated.

I think I would like to die falling off a Monroe if her name was Marilyn;)

My new Salford Lads Club t-shirt is a lucky one indeed.

Very nice, met people I haven't see in a far too long while, my buddy at KTH for example. And at the end of the party a "large" group of people from the moderate youth had a strategic meeting in the basement:p.

Peter,
Useful for keeping your head warm, but useless for protecting your back:D
(sorry, shouldn't mock when you are in agony!)

I'm 23.

I use something similar. I also use one of these (maybe post proof when I'm posting from home) but that is more for protection from midgies.

Was at my step-sisters for a small house party... but we did it up large with pool, darts, Wii, shots, dancing, and an oar which quickly became the spanking paddle ;) ha! My drink of choice was Knob Creek bourbon and surprisingly I feel aiight today... must've been the late night hot tub soak that sobered me up. Ha! Hardly...
2008 begins frinkishly =o) !

Why would you need to keep your head protected from midgets?

So I made out with a blue-eyed boy.

Well, I ended up working some OT but, I did go to the party. We stayed for the first set only. Then, we went to the town's party where we had a champagne toast, noisemakers & danced in the streets. A large crane was fixated w/ a lit ball which dropped at midnight. The DJ played until 3:00AM. We had an hour & 1/2 drive home. Finally got to bed around 5:00AM. Slept in NY Day until 11:30AM, went to brunch at this local diner (had great omlets) and then went shopping, out to dinner & watched movies at my place. Called family members & friends to wish them a happy NY too. Nursed major, major hang-over all day though(too many drinks)...lots of tea & head rest.

All in all, it was not a bad 2 days.

Hope all of yours were great too.

Worked because most people were idiots on New Years Eve (I work on a busy emergency ward) finished at 9pm, watched tv with my girls, then at midnight i popped open a bottle of Moet and drank the full bottle while watching Dirty Dancing. Went to bed at 3am and got up at 6am to go back to work to look after more idiots.
