Any movies or musical releases that you are looking forward to besides the next Morrissey album in 2008?

I'm ready to geek out again to:

What else is on your radar? Any concerts, films, CDs, DVDs or books that will be interesting?

I heard that Doritos makes a 2-flavors in 1-bag tortilla chip product now. I'm waiting for more of these snack innovations.

Like they combine flavors into one chip? - or that they throw in cool ranch with regular or something like that.

I'm more into the basic white, blue, yellow or dare I say red corn tortilla chips and track down exotic salsas.

Another X Files?

Cloverfield comes out in about three weeks. Unprecedented for a film that is building up this much hype. It looks like it should be what is normally considered for a Memorial Day or Summer release. I will be paying my $11 to see it.

The Dark Knight is a given. The movie looks intense. I do not know if you saw the link to the youtube video showing the footage of the bank heist that was aired before the opening of "I am Legend."

Romero is making another of his own "dead" movies or is it part of the remake series?

Sin City will be great as long as Miller continues to have input. I was also informed today of another Hellboy movie.

For films, as mentioned, dark knight, sin city, hellboy... For music, besides Moz's new album, hopefully another live dvd, and I hope I hope I hope, Sex Pistols America 2008??? Has a nice ring to it, eh?

It's a new installment to his series...not one of the remakes. From what I remember hearing, it's got a bit of the Blair Witch style to it, in that it's taped from a group of students' first person handheld camera perspective...but with the zombie gore that you'd expect from a Romero flick. Its early screenings got pretty good reviews, so I'm looking forward to checking it out.
I also can't wait for the next Indy and Batman, as well as the Incredible Hulk reboot....supposed new take on the Hulk, a new director and Edward Norton as Bruce Banner? I'm definitely curious.

I don't buy those either. this lady I'm working for was excited about it. Yes, cool ranch and fiery jabanero in the same bag. They probably had a spill at the factory and it was one of those "lightbulb" moments.

I heard that they are doing another X-Files. I'm excited about it, but also...

They sort of told the story and Cancer Man is dead, it might be disappointing. Moulder and Scully were headed somewhere and in hiding when the series ended so the story isn't over, but it looked to me like they were going to be fugitives and probably have to leave the country.

Those people have her baby so that story is still "out there", too. And I guess the Cigarette Smoking Man could appear in flashbacks, or be cloned or something.

The Chronicals of Narnia: Prince Caspian -out May 16, 2008

The four Pevensie children return to Narnia, only to discover that hundreds of years have passed since they ruled there, and the evil King Miraz has taken charge. With the help of a heroic mouse called Reepicheep, and the exiled heir to the throne, Prince Caspian, they set out to overthrow the King, once again with Aslan's help.

Hey Buzz, i got the New Box set of Blade Runner with Scott's final cut of the film. That will take some weekends to get through in the new year.

I have to check that out actually. I am curious to see if they (not really any spoilers here) finally show or at least make clear that he is a replicant.

I am still so pissed off over what they did to Spiderman its not funny.

Pissed off with the fact that they did what they did. Pissed off at the execution of doing it. More so... that is what separated DC from Marvel. Marvel has employed some very intelligent writing in its mainstream books.

What Marvel basically did was say we take back the past 20 years and on top of that you can stop reading now because nothing changes for the next 20 years. I have to be honest here. This is not about bragging rights. I have a complete set of Amazing. All I ever collected to keep was Amazing. If I did not have that set I would drop the book at this point.

Didn't start it all again with the Ultimate Spiderman?

Yes, there were other ways of ending the marriage. That was the great thing with Spiderman was that he was a teenager with teenager problems. So why can't he be an adult with adult problems, like divorce etc. May be, i got the wrong end of the stick:confused: as i don't read the book.

That was everyone's point. They had a reboot in a separate book. (Ultimate Spiderman) By doing this you have said that the rest of the Marvel Universe never changes and because it is a flagship character it undoes everything that Spiderman participated in during the past 20 years.

I think that is why they are pushing it to three issues a month starting in two weeks. That way they can show that monthly sales are up. I think Quesada knew that this would drop readership but still figured it would be best. To tell the truth... this is probably the worst thing that they have done since the Clone Saga and it looks like it is sticking.

Well hopefully not for long and hopefully you will still enjoy for Spiderman books:)

After reading what you and Buzzetta have been saying, I am suddenly very grateful that I stopped reading comic books a little while ago. I had no idea they were doing that kind of thing with Spider-Man and I'd probably just get aggravted as shit reading it.

Anyways....back to the topic and still comic related, I don't know if anyone posted the Dark Knight's first trailer, but here it is. I think Ledger as the Joker is gonna take some getting used to. Something about his delivery rubs me the wrong way...but I'm still cautiously optimistic.
*Edit: Though after watching this like 5 times :o LOL...Ledger's Joker did kind of grow on me.

Movies:

June 2008 “Get Smart”: Steve Carell as Maxwell Smart, Agent 86 for CONTROL, battles the forces of KAOS with the more-competent Agent 99 (Anne Hathaway) at his side.

Tho nobody could ever top Don Adams, I’ll go see for ‘the world’s greatest boss’ in the lead…

April 2008 “Baby Mama”: A successful, single businesswoman (Tina Fey) who dreams of having a baby discovers she is infertile and hires a working class woman (Amy Poehler) to be her unlikely surrogate.

Love these ladies and it’s a story I can completely relate to (I ‘hired’ my step sister )

I'm really looking forward to seeing Charlie Wilson's War, which is released in Europe next week. The combination of Mike Nichols, who's directed some of my favourite films, and Aaron Sorkin, who wrote the greatest TV series in history, should result in an impressive dramedy. Then again, these cinematic tag-teams are usually a huge let down. I believe the film's already released in the US, anybody seen it yet?

On the music front, new releases from U2, Counting Crows, Death Cab, R.E.M....oh yeah, and Morrissey (though my feeling towards that is more concerned apprehension).

It looks as if the white skin is makeup. I am hoping that they will find a way "in-story" to have it bleached.
