View Full Version : Decent quote from Moz on meat?
Practising Troublemaker December 7, 2007, 03:28 PM I have to produce a persuasive argument for my english as to why more people should look to become vegetarian. I want to use a decent quote my brother said about it and also something Morrissey has said. Please can somebody post one, perhaps two or three lines in length? I do not want to Meat Is Murder lyrics though, thanks.
Love PTxx.

PT is 17. He's never not had the Internet. Are you, of all people, really going to start telling people to go to the library instead of asking perfectly relevant questions here?

"We get violently upset when animals eat human beings. So why shouldn't we feel horror
when human beings eat animals?"
Jan 1985
"It is a direct statement. Of all the political topics to be scrutinised, people are still disturbingly vugue about the treatment of animals, people still seem to believe that meat is a particular substance not at all connnected to animals playing in the field over there. People don't realise how gruesomely and frightengly the animal gets to the plate"

:) The cavalry of support has arrived, thanks! I do quite often use books especially at school where my own mother is the librarian however, at home I am always in front of the computer and just use the the internet. I am currently browsing through archives of Morrissey interviews from the Meat Is Murder sessions, honestly he has so many views...which one to pick I really don't know.

:) it's from the Importance of Being Morrissey.
Basically everything he says in there is his view on it all.
peppermint_patty April 11, 2008, 07:31 PM ?
He looks hot in your signature.
I'm designing a tattoo. Did he ever come up with anything as snappy as meat is murder?

Snappy? How about "I don't eat my friends." That's not his, it's PETA's.
Also, not sure how new you are to this, but he very recently put out a press release regarding the seal cull in Canada. That might yield something for you.

The real question is, how do you feel about anal sex?

I don't think that's what she meant by "Moz on meat," but you never know.

Yeah. It's going on my ankle so it can't be an essay, you see.
I have enjoyed reading his thoughts on that ghastly seal cull. but I want my new tattoo to represent my lifelong vegetarianism and my (since-16-) love of Morrissey. I think it will most probably end up reading meat is murder. I mean, could it BE any better summed up?

I don't want to be rude to you, but before internet we all went to the library to find books to get information.
Let me make a suggestion. When you are offering a bit of advice it's better to say "you could", rather than "you should". That way you're being helpful but you're not telling someone what to do.
You could have offered the helpful link without the bit about going to the library. Anyway, lots of people go to the library to use the computers now rather than to read the books. It's not likely that your average library is going to have any information about Morrissey's view on vegetarianism.
Therefore, everything after the helpful link is not only unhelpful, it's pretty much irrelevant, and once again, you're asking people, whether you realize it or not, not to use the website.
