A total mess. I feel sorry for her cause she clearly has real talent. :(

It is HER problem not ours, and em yea she is a pop star not a member of my family, I am not disrespecting her or her family, she is doing that for herself.
Again, I think the woman is an amazing talent, my reason for posting this youtube clip was to do with my shock at how bad she has become, Taking drugs out of your hair and snorting them on stage well, wow, its clearly an addiction and she needs help. Also she must feel she does not need it or she would be in rehab and really attempting to get help.
Also her husband is in jail cause he allegedly perverted the course of justice so there you have it... time will tell about that one.

Amy was wiping her snotty nose...."snorting a line" isn't that easy my dear. You can't hide a powder substance in your hair then wipe it on your sleeve then sniff it up!
the only drug taking i've heard that involves some one using their sleeve is Tippex thinner.

yes, I do not know too much only what is reported in the press which may or may not be lies and rubbish. However I read they went into rehab together, in my limited knowledge this is not advisable and left after a few hours, so clearly not ready to get help as yet.

And I don't know her either, obviously. However, being "priveleged",whatever that is supposed to mean,is relative and really has nothing to do with addiction.
It is NOT a self inflicted choice to become addicted.
Perhaps,"care" is the wrong word but I'm just very troubled when people become so judgemental over those they only "know" by what they read in the media.

I would say that in spite of being "the critically-acclaimed, multi-award-winning, platinum-selling pop star, with the husband, the adoring fans and the loving family" she IS,at the moment, far far less fortunate than myself.

yeah, but she decided she'd rather go on holiday han stay in rehab. I used to know people like her, and yes, she isn't going to sort herself out until she accepts she has a problem. After a while, you just stop caring to be honest. And she won't sort herself out unless her husband does too.

that she is an addict isn't in dispute; there's no need to labour the point. many people are addicts and don't enjoy the kind of advantages that ms. winehouse does. it seems to me that, unlike most, she has ample resources at her disposal, to deal with her addiction, should she choose to do so.
again, i suggest that - instead of sanctimoniously berating people on an internet forum, for not expressing how much they Care about the hardships of a pop star - you actually do something to help someone who might actually benefit from your concern.

Pop stars are just people. They are not "cushioned". Totally understand if you don't agree witth me but to think that money, fame etc has any bearing on a person's problems is truly odd to me.They still get ill and die like the rest of us.

HIM November 17, 2007, 04:29 PM So, are you saying compassion should be just for the poor?
no, i'm saying - contrary to your assertion, above - that their is a notable correlation between health status and socioeconomic position and that, in general, the health of those at the lower end of the class structure is worse than those above them, for a variety of reasons.
amy winehouse, as i've said, isn't having to endure material hardship in her everyday life such that she has to escape from it through drug abuse; she has the love and support of her family; she has the financial resources to afford the best professional help that money can buy. why should she have the compassion of those who lack those privileges, too?
"deliberate show"? What a ridiculous thing to say,i was responding to other posts on here that i disagreed with.

Buzzetta November 17, 2007, 04:31 PM Would you think the same about those who smoke and/or drink and then becomes a problem for them?
I already do. I excuse those from my parents and grandparents age as they grew up without knowing the consequences of smoking. Today... all you hear is I know I should stop but...
Perhaps it is how I was raised. I grew up in a home where my brother and I were literal monsters. We received excellent grades and were pretty well behaved but there were many broken bones from messing around doing "jackass" style stuff and then there was the time we had a waterfight and flooded the house.... We knew the line however. Mom and Dad told their kids... you do drugs and we catch you even once we are calling the police. For some reason we knew this was the line that dare not be crossed. Other lines we tested... not this one.

As for not enduring "material hardship",it's all relative.MOST people in the world are MUCH MUCH MUCH worse off than any of the posters on here, does that mean no one on here deserves compassion, sympathy, empathy or help if they have problems ?

Hellie November 17, 2007, 11:28 PM I do believe anything that is self induced deserves very little pity.If I for example chose to smoke 30 fags a day and end up with lung cancer and a drain on my family and the NHS I`d deserve none.
However i have more understanding and compassion for some poor girl living in poverty on some rough estate.Kids round her neck, boyfriend a smack head.Part of a cycle of poverty and despair passed down from generation to generation than i would someone in a position that many young girls aspire to.Amy Winehouse has wealth and people all around her to support her. She`s spoilt, selfish and utterly absorbed with her own problems.I once had a friend who died from leukaemia and struggled day in day out for years and years to survive. If you`ve been on a ward with people who really suffer you`d have little time for some stupid cow who thinks life has done her such an injustice she has to shove a couple of grand up her nose of an evening for recreation.

snapyou November 18, 2007, 08:35 AM .She`s spoilt, selfish and utterly absorbed with her own problems.I once had a friend who died from leukaemia and struggled day in day out for years and years to survive. If you`ve been on a ward with people who really suffer you`d have little time for some stupid cow who thinks life has done her such an injustice she has to shove a couple of grand up her nose of an evening for recreation.
I once had a brother who died from leukaemia and struggled day in day out for years and years to survive.I have been on a ward with people who suffer but I DO have time for Ms Whitehouse and her problems.
We've just got wildly differing views and opinions on this matter:each to their own.
Finally, anyone interested in trying to help others, please watch BULGARIA'S ABANDONED CHILDREN on BBC2 tonight at 10pm.

no problem. i can see you like your generosity of spirit to be acknowledged - otherwise, what's the point, eh? (even though you studiously ignored the second part of my post.)

Blimey,you're SO cynical.
It matters not a whit if it's "acknowledged" or not.

I wonder when she'll go back to black.
imogen11 January 14, 2008, 07:27 AM I would think that Amy's addiction (and self harming and eating disorder) would be indicative of some deep-seated problems. She may be rich and privledged (in some respects) and she may have made some stupid decisions, but why does that mean she doesn't deserve any sympathy? The world is watching her kill herself, courtesy of the paparazzi and tabloids, and there is something incredibly eerie about watching it happen.
I think everyone is being very hard on Snapyou.

i completely agree. yes, of course you make the choice of physically picking up that first drug. you make the choice to put that drug up your nose or in your veins, but SOMETHING made you do it in the first place. and that SOMETHING probably stems from issues that that you did NOT have a choice over. and THAT makes ALL the difference.
and at some point those drugs actually completely change your brain's chemistry to where it literally isn't a choice anymore. drinking or drugs becomes as fundamental to how you function throughout the day as a good nights sleep. i personally feel bad for Amy, Britney, and even little miss Lohan to a degree. doesnt matter how rich or poor you are or how famous. drug addiction doesnt care who you are.
Moonbeam January 14, 2008, 07:54 AM This is just speculation! She may have had a privileged upbringing, happy childhood, greet teenage years etc etc and just abused the fact she has wealth and fame. She is a dirty mess right now and dossing her days away with that disgusting junkie doherty is the worst thing for her.
Jeez don't waste your sympathy on these two scruffy junkie plebs...

Paulc January 14, 2008, 03:40 PM I do believe anything that is self induced deserves very little pity.If I for example chose to smoke 30 fags a day and end up with lung cancer and a drain on my family and the NHS I`d deserve none.
I reckon you only choose to smoke the first few and then like many drugs you have an addiction. Some people have a more addictive nature than others. I was addicted to fags for 17 years and as you know stopped about 2 weeks ago. I bloody hope i havent left it too late and havent already contracted some horrible diease but if i have i am grateful that i live in a country with a health service that will help me if i need its help. I wont want your pity or anyone elses but i am grateful to you and everyone else for paying your taxes.
Paulc January 14, 2008, 03:46 PM I already do. I excuse those from my parents and grandparents age as they grew up without knowing the consequences of smoking. Today... all you hear is I know I should stop but...
people make mistakes and often they make them at quite an early stage - before they are even adult enough to understand the consequences.
People who start smoking at 16 like me for example and regret it for ever after. I have stopped two weeks ago :D
I dont think its pity me and my fellow addicts are after but its also not dismissal and contempt which is what your post feels like.

She is huge and constant tabloid fodder over here. Its relentless, I am not sure if her pap attention is Britney Spears crazy but its pretty constant.
Kilt Uncle May 9, 2008, 08:51 PM I can`t stand her and i hate all the media "concern" for her and her problems. What a spoilt,self-absorbed whiny cow.God there`s people out there with real problems.I reckon she keeps a stash in that birds nest of a hairdo. And now her poor ickle hubby is in rehab.Like we should care.
The media couldn't give a toss about her. But if a drug addiction isn't a problem i'd like to know what is a problem according to you? You can tell by the look of her that she's killing herself and i don't think it's too much to ask that people should show a bit of compassion in these situations. I have had close friends who have died from drug addiction and it's not funny watching people you care about slowly destroying themselves and i can assure you that her addiction is a REAL problem. The fact that you don't think it's a problem shows phenomenal ignorance. There are genetic factors in addiction, so maybe you can say she's dumb for taking drugs in the first place, but we've all done stupid things and most of us are lucky enough not get that hooked. I kind of feel fortunate at this point.
She's one of the few unique, talented artists around these days and i hope she gets better so that we can continue to enjoy that beautiful voice.

Hellie May 9, 2008, 10:03 PM Saw some pictures the other day of Amy winehouse pre-beehive and she was actually quite beautiful. What she's done to herself is crazy. Her tattoos are not tasteful like they can be,instead it looks almost like self abuse. Her whole look is cheap.
We are all entitled to our opinions of celebrities. They put themselves in the limelight.I cannot stand her.She looks and behaves ridiculously and her voice is just dreadful. It grates.
I have personal experience of addiction. And whilst you can help people and encourage them ultimately they are very selfish people.
I'll save my sympathy for people who are desperately ill through no fault of their own and haven't induced their own misery through indulgent wallowing.
And besides i doubt very much if she or the world at large gives too hoots about what a few people on a music forum think.

Well, being a singer it shouldn't really matter about what she looks like, but what she sounds like. And you must be one of the very few people who thinks she sounds dreadful because millions obviously disagree.
I'm not so sure that we're all entitled to opinions about people we know very little about. The truth is we know nothing except the bullshit that so-called journalists seem to tell us about her and i loathe these idiots in the british tabloid press more than ANY celebrity.
I agree that drug addicts are very selfish, but as i said there are strong, proven genetic factors in drug addiction which is why people end up killing themselves sometimes. So scientifically it is beyond pure selfishness why some people become addicted so badly. I don't think i've craved anything that much which is why i'm grateful for that fact and if there was a genetic reason beyond curiosity then it could happen to any of us.
If you only reserve your sympathy for people who have done absolutely nothing to merit illness, then there must be very few people you have left to sympathise with. And i'm sure she couldn't give a toss what people on a music Forum think about her and she would be mad if she did. I was just curious about your complete lack of compassion for her as a fellow human being.
And if it wasn't for people like Amy, our airwaves would be completely saturated with manufactured shit devoid of any beauty whatsoever. And she's one of the most original, unique artists we've seen or heard in years and in these banal times we should be grateful for that.

I don't really consider artists to be that pointless, because the point is they make music and sing which is never a pointless thing. Jordan. That is a pointless thing.
I think she does deserve compassion and i have it in abundance, even for you if you needed it. So not only do you have little sympathy for people, you have no compassion either. You must live in a very small world.
Her voice is amazing and it's the most original singing voice in years, but you're entitled to not like it. I don't think she would head-butt me, i've never heard of her doing that to anyone, but if she did that to a journalist i would love her even more.

Honestly, why do you care so much about Amy Winehouse? It's reactions like this that fuel the tabloids. The best thing you can do is not add to the drama and stop talking about other people's problems. She is a human being you know and money/fame + drug addictions = problems x tabloid exploitation + people talking trash about celebrities because they have personal issues.
Have you met Amy Winehouse? Do you know who she really is behind the curtains? Do you know how terrible it is to be addicted to hard drugs? Do you realize how much fame can change people? No, apparently you don't. You don't have to grateful for anything you don't like, just stop judging people so harshly.

Yes i like people with something to say even if they piss me off.Thats why the veggie and vivisection debate are good.Because by hearing others points of view you see a little of the way people think.Censorship is never a good thing.

You can't stop the 'pull' of that kind of tradition, we're all here because of it, so there will always be a fascination with it. My own strategy is innuendo and that is even cheaper than sex...:)
I keep looking at your avatar from time to time just to remind myself that you do actually blink in it, and i didn't imagine it that night..:)

Dave June 10, 2008, 08:12 AM All those people do is provide themselves as symbols to be hated. If a tsunami wiped them all out the world would keep right on going. They've got to be stupid beyond their addictions. I'm sure that there are many people over the years that did just as many drugs as they did and never wound up with those sorts of sores and whateverthefuckthatshitis on her face. You think they do more dope than Ozzy or Joe Perry did? They must just do really poor quality street drugs and are too stupid to take care of themselves. You can take drugs and not look like those messes. That's why I would like to push them off of a high ledge and get it over with. They are boring and stupid. Drug usage can actually be conducted in a somewhat intelligent manner, and look like a personal choice, but that's not the message those fucked up junkies portray. They're everything that drug prohibitionists love to see.
And seeing him holding that kid while he has those sores all over his neck is sick. I'd like to kick his balls up into his intestines. :)

i think the sores are attributed to the fact that they specifically smoke alot of crack/meth. im sure rockers like Ozzy and Joe Perry did alot of coke, but snorted it, and did heroin, pills...i dont know exactly what. but it seems like specifically smoking crack or meth really messes you up aesthetically as far as hard drugs go. not that one is worse or better than the other, but thats the explanation that seems the most likely. cuz yeah, that shit looks harblz.

and Britney's dad complaining about not being paid to cook her dinner. I'm sure he just put some Fish Sticks in the toaster oven, anyway.
http://x17online.com/Britney%20Spears/britjamie.jpg
Ever since March, we've been wondering just where Jamie Spears' $2500-a-week salary as his daughter Britney's conservator has been going - until now, that is!
Papa Spears filed a declaration with the Court seeking, in effect, back pay. The Court, Spears argues, did not allocate Spears' salary until March 3rd, thus leaving Jamie holding the bag for all the money he laid out on Britney's behalf in February
"After Britney was released from the hospital," Jamie told the Court, "I brought Britney home and secured her living and care situation... I was arranging, coordinating, or managing her medical and legal affairs."
Of course, securing Britney's care didn't come cheap. "Throughout the time period, I ran errands, including buying groceries and cooking supper on a daily basis," Jamie said. "I arranged for Britney's transport and security to go shopping and so that she could teach a dance class... I also met with private security personnel."
Jamie also devoted a lot of resources to securing legal representation for his daughter, detailing extensive conversations with Andrew Wallet and attorneys at Luce Forward. Also on the bill? Time spent meeting with Britney's ex-husband Kevin Federline and the former couple's children!
"I visited with Britney's children and their father, Mr. Federline," Jamie stated. "I consulted with Mr. Federline regarding schooling for Britney's sons. I was present for Britney's visitation with her sons."
Of course, a good deal of Jamie's valuable time went to simply chit-chatting with his unstable daughter - his statement contains multiple references to spending "a good deal of every day" conversing with his daughter and cooking meals for her. Aww!
The current conservatorship arrangement is in place until July 31st. Britney has a probate hearing today to update the Court on her capacity to partake in the conservatorship proceedings.
What do you think - is Jamie entitled to an extra month's pay? Or is he getting enough already?

Or is he getting enough already?
sounds like he was being a dad, looking after his daughter when she really needed help .. moaning money grabbing git, I get that the guy has to have living expenses but really it all seems a bit cheap and horrible

I hope that she gets rid of him soon. I think I'd have done it the old fashioned way. Britney must know someone who knows someone that could take him for a ride and explain things to him. :D

bysshe July 29, 2008, 12:57 AM Spokesman: Winehouse to ER for reaction to meds
07/28/2008 6:24 PM, AP
Jill Lawless
Amy Winehouse was hospitalized Monday night for a reaction to medication but was expected to be released by morning, representatives for the Grammy-winning singer said.
An ambulance took Winehouse from her north London home to University College Hospital, spokesman Chris Goodman said.
"Doctors have advised that she will be kept under observation overnight and is likely to be released tomorrow," read a statement released by Goodman and Tracey Miller, the 24-year-old's U.S.-based publicist.
It was the second time in as many months that Winehouse has been in the hospital. She was admitted to a London clinic in June after collapsing at home, and father Mitch Winehouse said at the time she had developed early stage emphysema from smoking cigarettes and crack cocaine.
Winehouse underwent a series of tests but was discharged in time to perform at the Glastonbury music festival and celebrations for former South African president Nelson Mandela's 90th birthday.
The troubled soul diva became an international star after she released the Grammy-winning album "Back to Black" in 2006, but her music has been overshadowed by reports of drug use and run-ins with the law.
This year, she was investigated by police, although not charged, after a tabloid newspaper published a video that appeared to show her smoking crack cocaine.
In April 2008 she was cautioned by police for assault after she slapped a man on a night out.
Earlier this month, her husband Blake Fielder-Civil was sentenced to 27 months in jail for assault and obstructing justice. Fielder-Civil admitted beating up pub manager James King in a barroom fight in 2006 and then offering him $400,000 to keep quiet about it.
Winehouse has repeatedly regaled concert audiences with appeals for the release of "my Blake."
