In 1993, my part of the world got hit with a 500-year flood. Ben & Jerry's donated two semi trucks' worth of free factory-reject ice cream. My roommates & I made off with something like 5 cases (60 1-pint cartons), and one of the cartons was Apple Pie flavor--they literally just sliced up apple pies and dumped them into the mix. It was the best thing I ever tasted, but that flavor went to the graveyard (http://www.benjerry.com/halloween/flavor_graveyard.cfm) shortly thereafter. I still miss it something fierce.

Speaking of custard/mousse, does anyone remember when Haagen Dazs had a limited run of Vanilla Mousse ice cream? I swear, I went through a carton of it every two days until they stopped making it, at which point I suffered severe withdrawals. I still have the vague hope that I'll find a leftover carton of it every time I wander into a new grocery store.

No. *sob* I spent weeks after it went out of production digging through every last ice cream carton that had a vanilla bean on it. Ohh, the heart-ache that I went through when I would find a carton with frost covering the flavor name. Ben and Jerrys "Cherry Garcia". Unforetunately when I hit 40 I started having issues with certain dairy products, ice cream being the worst of the lot. Green tea mochi (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mochi_ice_cream) is my friend now, think it's because the servings are so small.

Usually I stick to vanilla, chocolate, mint, and sherbert.
