Thanks for the info, tickets.com didn't seem as bad as ticketbastard. We'll I'll see you there. That's an odd on sale time.

I'll be there, provided that we go someplace where folks under 21 (like myself) can be allowed in. :)

That's right I forgot your not 21, well I'm sure there must be somewhere nearby we could goto. I've never been there before so have no ideas. I'm glad I changed my plane ticket or else I wouldn't even be able to go.

I'm currently reading up on the local restaurant scene in Royal Oak. For our vegetarian friends (I am not) there's only one vegearian restaurant in RO, but there are plenty of pubs and such for our enjoyment. :)

I'm sure I can find something to eat most anywhere. As long I get to see my 5th Moz show this don't really care about the rest.

There's a Fuddruckers and a Buffalo Wild Wings which has food (i'm sure both have food with, AND without meat) where a person or few could easily have a pre-show ale or few, AND they both are friendly to the under 21 crowd.. (at least as far as them being there, not quite as easy to pull off drinking underage though) Just be VERY careful, the Royal Oak Music Theatre and GSI (Gallagher Security Inc) can tend to be occasional nazis, so don't overdo the pre-drinking.. Anyone have any idea if this is going to be a general admission show or not? I live in the area and plan on being at the show as well, so anyone else going keep me in the loop and/or anyone coming from out of the area, feel free to pick my brain about some of the details..

I would be interested to know what's on Fuddrucker's or Buffalo Wild Wings' menu that is vegetarian... lol... although surprisingly, Chili's has a nice black bean burger. Is there one of those nearby?

Anyway, it's a GA show, so there won't be much time to hang around before hand.

BW3 has garden burgers. The show is GA?? Really wow that's so cool. Makes buying tickets easy then.

Yes it's all GA checked the website and tickets are $51. It says no seating open for dancing ang mingling??? Interesting way of saying that.

Hello Craiggy, welcome to the boards! :) Always nice to see new faces around here.

I've never been to Buffalo Wild Wings, but it sounds alot like Frickers, a chain of sports bars that we have in NW Ohio. That sounds good to me, what do the rest of us think?

One thing I'd like to know, Craiggy, is what is the parking situation like for the venue? Does the theater have a lot, or will we park in a garage like at the Michigan?

it's odd...why isnt this up on ticketmaster yet????
i really need to get my hands on one of these tickets- it's most likely the only concert I will be able to attend...(however, things are looking better for Merriville every day...although things can go wrong very very often.)

51 dollars isnt too bad, does GA mean that I will have to arrive really early to try to get near the stage?

They are the official ticket provider for the venue i believe.

I dunno, can they really be more unreliable than TicketBastard?

You can put in an order with TicketLiquidator or StubHub or similar... but it will cost you double to triple face value.

What's wrong with Tickets.com? I've not heard anything one way or the other.

The Cleveland show was through tickets.com and it didn't seem bad, the service charge was only $5 lower than ticketbastard and the sercurity code was a set of easy to read numbers. Plus I was able to get really great seats though I still ended up buying another even closer seat from them. Since it's all GA doesn't matter. Though you have to create an account which I suggest doing now. That way you'll be all set and won't have to waste time with that on the onsale date.

i also went to the cleveland show and tickets.com was very reliable. is there a presale for this show? i say we all have a meetup somewhere at a certain time and stand in line together i really want to shake morrisseys hand, and i want to get on stage to hug him though i will probably get my ass kicked.

I concur. I get out of class at 11:30, so I could be there between 1 and 1:30 if need be.

I would be best assuming that the show will sellout in a matter of minutes, wouldn't I? Does anyone know how many people the Royal Oak venue will hold?

JoyDiv007
August 31, 2007, 03:40 AM
I think I read it's less than 1500 so yeah this will sell out.

It probably won't sell out right away. Waukegan and Merrillville are still available.

i am sure it will sell out, i think this will be a great show i hope to meet everyone there, is there a lot of hotels around the area?

WinkWink
August 31, 2007, 05:31 AM
it will "sell out" within hours, only to have tickets reappear hours later and available for many many days after.

morrissey can not sell out 1500 that quickly in the detroit area...even with 'moz tourists' coming in to see the show.

Morrissey said at the Ann Arbor show that it was the first venue to sell out on the first leg of this tour..Ann Arbor is only 45 min away from Royal Oak..so I think it will sell out quickly..

ann arbor was available on TM for many weeks, i believe up to the day of the show even...Radio city officially sold out back in 2004 on both nights...but i was there and can tell you it did not. plus tickets were available on ticketmaster everyday.

the thing people don't understand is, they release a certain number of tickets and those tickets sell out...and that is considered the official sell out date...then more tickets...a lot more tickets...gets released into the system.

i don't know why they do this...perhaps when negotiating contracts an artist can say, "look, i sold out this venue in this amount of time..." or maybe morrissey is the only one who does this. i don't know. i just know that in 2-3 weeks from now, you can check tickets.com and there will be tickets for the Royal Oak show.

i am psychic.

WinkWink

the matter of fact, i predict many people will be buying balcony seats for the Detroit show because at some point on the first onsale day, GA tickets will not be available. of course majority of people will think, "oh shit, it's selling out quickly...better buy fast." NO!!..it means they want you to buy those seats first and upgrade later, or not even for that reason (for example, to help fill out the venue with people in every section in case show doesn't sell out).

haven't been to detroit. honestly i'm quite scared to go. mainly getting lost. i'll be driving from kentucky....5 hours or so.
i'd rather go to the indiana show, but i'm not having much luck finding two tickets in a good spot.
