Anyone else going for a shot at these?
I don't know if this has been cleared up, but, on Live Nation is says that today is the PRESALE for these tickets, while on ticketmaster it just says its on sale from today to tuesday 9/4. Do you think Live Nation will ask for a presale password? oh and i'm pretty sure that when it says it's $391.50, this is the final price - no extra charges, etc., right?
So exciting!!:D
ps. i have never used livenation.com, is it better to use than ticketmaster? and do i need an account?
EDIT: I just figured out that Live Nation sells through ticketmaster, so ignore my questions, i'll just use ticketmaster.

OMG, you can only choose UPS shipping for $20. That total is so insane I refuse to retype it here. That is rent for a month!

Just remember, that's 2 weeks rent for a tiny studio in a crime-ridden neighborhood here in San Francisco.

maybe if a rented out my front rooms couch for $50bucks a night to someone whos going all ten nights (youd be able to catch a $10 cab ride to the venue or take the good ol MTA for under $2 bucks) then Id have the cash for the package.
PS. yOU know what sucks that Moz AND a lot of other bands, announce gig dates, then fuckin 2-3days later the tix go on sale. WTF?! I mean, most fans are probly kids or under 25s that probly cant produce $511 to buy this or for that matter a bloody $100 ticket for that. kinda sucks. They should give us fans at least a couple weeks to sort ourselfs out with loot, dont just spring it on us. Dont know about y'all but $10,000 a year in property tax doesnt leave a lot of "Morrissey gig money" about.

What happened to those "convenience" charges? Did I hallucinate the break on "convenience" charges? I thought the absurd shipping was to make up for the break on the extra fees.
vAndreav
August 25, 2007, 05:20 PM
so how early do you think we should get to the venue? there will still be a line for the package people and since the doors open at 7 im guessing the package holders will be let in around this time first...

Okay so whats the situation with only offering delivery to US addresses when buying these tickets - theres not even an option for picking them up at the box office - so if you live outwith the us, you're screwed??
Hoping this situation is resolved by the time the NYC shows go up - absolutely appalling!

Make a friend in the US? I've used US Postal Service's International Priority Mail before, for work. It was shockingly cheap and fast. Have someone receive it for you and then send it on to you.

YUP, exactly what I was thinking.
This "commemorative ticket" thing better be etched in His Blood or something.
Kidding, of course. Kinda.
So, spending large amounts of money I don't have on Morrissey shows seems to be the norm for me this summer. Why break the pattern now? :)

I thought the discount was meant to compensate for the service charges- Ticketmaster isn't going to waive its cut for anyone. It still works out to just $7 over face value, with shipping, and you get the early admission.

Given the level of publicity these shows have been getting combined with the lack of interest in the US last time round, you'd think he would want them open to everyone - seems a tad unfair to only allow these tickets to be sold to Americans, or anyone who knows someone in the country!!!
....unless, UPS can work alongside foriegn delivery companies to get the tickets delivered overseas - anyone have any idea?
Hopefully this issue gets resolved.

i'm from orange county too, are you planning on staying LA or driving back every night and then back up the next day? i wont have money for a place to stay so i'll be doing a lot of driving...hopefully with this commemorative ticket i wont have to leave until the afternoon.

I have an idea- why not call your consulate in an American city- maybe they can receive the package and forward it to you.

My goodness, the lengths we have to go to, to get Moz tickets - scandalous; thats an idea actually. I dont actually want tix for these shows, but the NYC pass, and the level of stress im under simply thinking about getting them delivered, will be nowt come the day Nyc goes on sale!!!
Couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery!!!!

Ticketbastard never asked me for a shipping address. They simply said they were shipping to billing addresses.

I know Ticketbastard is not going to refrain from taking its pound of flesh, uh, I mean its cut.
I suppose if pressed about the earlier "no surcharge" statement, they will respond with "But as you can see, there is no surcharge on your receipt" because legalistically, a "convenience" charge is not a "surcharge"
It's like the University of California is bound by legislation not to charge its residents tuition fees for its education, so they get around the spirit of the law by charging "registration fees".

They never do. It's to prevent credit card fraud.
This is slightly inconvenient for me because my billing address is more than 200 miles away from L.A. But I don't want to change it because with the moving around that I do (about biannually), it looks bad and may lower my credit rating to have my address changed that often.

from the Ticketmaster US website:
Shipping Options:
UPS - for events that occur in the United States, but only for purchasers who use a United States billing address.
Im going to have to get on the blower to Ticketmaster before Hammerstein passes go on sale to get this sorted out. Seems a bit strange for them to limit tickets to only american residents?!!

Hmmm... that's inconvenient. Good luck getting an answer from Ticketmaster- your best bet might be a phone order.
Or, find someone you really trust and pay them to get the package for you and then ship it to you when received. I'm going to be buying the NY package too, but fortunately I won't have any problems with the shipping. I'm sure this is something no one in Moz' camp foresaw- he knows he has UK fans who come here for shows.
I'll do it for you, PM me. There are a number of people on here who've met me in person and can vouch for me.

Thankfully my brain kickstarted itself into action to remind me I have an aquantince in the states who will allow me to post the tickets to them.
Thanks for the offer though.

Yes, I had thought of that. And I'm afraid some pisser will start the agony by turning up at the crack of dawn! Grrr...
We'll see after the first day, how early a majority people show up. Then again, how many packages were sold? There's no way to determine that, is there?

i have no idea where i read this, but i THINK i read somewhere that there were like 200 packages? i really have no idea though, i had the thought that there wouldn't be many at all and that they'd be sold in an instance, but they seem readily available.
I wish everyone would just show up at like 5pm and take it from there, but i have a feeling this line will be no better than any other regular line to see morrissey...sigh...

I think that they are selling as many as they can until the sale is over with. Wh limit it when they want to give evreyone and anyone a shot at buying this? I guess there is no restriction on the whole thign if you get your tickets throught he mail a few days before. So we woudl get all 10 tickets plus the front of the line thing.
