SNS22 May 2, 2007, 03:46 PM As we're all aware, Lucky Lisp now makes Bona Drag the third album to have all of its songs played (After Your Arsenal and Ringleader)....
Used To Be A Sweet Boy was played at the beginning of the Boxers Tour and as I always mention was CUT from Introducing Morrissey video
Not Right in the Head May 2, 2007, 03:49 PM It's Hard To Walk Tall When You're Small
The b-side version on "Redondo Beach" DVD single is from a Janice Long radio session, which is more or less live. Does that count?
Smelly French Boy May 2, 2007, 04:24 PM It's hard to walk... have been played live for janice long too
SNS22 May 3, 2007, 12:54 AM Re:It's Hard To Walk Tall When You're Small....

I actually read in an interview w/ Spenny that it may be about him. Of course, i could be imagining it...

Spencer?? Why would Morrissey have a bigger grudge against Spencer than Mike Joyce?
The only story I ever heard about Spencer (which I doubt is/was true was that he fraternized too closely with some groupies)

Just speculation, mind you, but here's an excerpt from an interview w/ Spenny from Pretty Petty Thieves:
"Ever since Spencer left Morrissey's band, there's been rumours popping up occasionally which haven't been particularly savoury (or sweet, for that matter). I won't air them here, as you'll have read them before elsewhere. But I had to ask... what does he make of the rumour that last year's B-side 'It's Hard To Walk Tall When You're Small' is about him? "Well, if so, there's nothing quite like being kept alive in the writings of a master wordsmith." Don't you just want to give Spencer a great big hug?"

thewarroom May 3, 2007, 10:15 AM Yes I Am Blind HAS been played live on the Kill Uncle tour. The best version is availible on the London '91 boot.

The Youngest May 3, 2007, 03:51 PM Wow, I've never heard that before. Was it only played a couple of times?
Thanks
SNS22 May 3, 2007, 07:45 PM Wow, I've never heard that before. Was it only played a couple of times?
Thanks
From what I remember, Yes I Am Blind first appeared at the end of the first North America leg and disappered around the time he went to Australia....so probably was only played close to 10 times
Check PassionsJustLikeMine for more info
thewarroom May 3, 2007, 08:03 PM Just went to Passions and counted 14 live performances of Yes I Am Blind. The first came in Toronto on July 5, 1991 and the last came in Fukuoka on August 27, 1991.

dropped in Japan?? I knew it was dropped around the time Sister, I'm A Poet was added on the tour and was certain he wasn't still playing it the second time around the UK....
It's a shame since it's really one of my favorite Bona Drag B-Sides...And It was co-written by Andy Rourke

I agree. On the bright side, he's recently brought back Disappointed and Lucky Lisp, so there's still hope! :D

There's hope for any song that Isn't "This Charming Man", "What Difference Does It Make" or from Kill Uncle!!!!!..
I don't think he'll ever playing any of them again...even though Our Frank would sound killer with the piano

I think I put in another thread that Our Frank would be great on this tour. It'd have to be closer in pace at least to the studio version as opposed to the live version from '91.
Also, I could see Moz and Mikey Farrell coming on by themselves for the first encore for a powerful rendition of There's a Place in Hell for Me and My Friends. :D
MozFanNJ May 25, 2007, 02:01 AM :D I'm sure this has been discussed....but has Shelia Take A Bow or I Started Something I Couldn't Finish ever been performed live by Moz/Smiths? Thanks guys.....Mark :D
Kuiper May 25, 2007, 02:05 AM I'm afraid not. :o I think Sheila is underrated, but I'm really interested in what I Started Something would sound like live. I think it would make a great opener or encore song.

Shelia was only performed on The Tube and The San Remo Festival...but they don't count...
yeah I Started Something was the song that got me hooked on The Smiths...
"Hair brushed and parted"

I would include the Tube performance. San Remo was a mimed performance, and Sheila HAS technically been performed live in front of an audience.
Am I the only one who thinks this was? :o

We usually count concerts...but then again...does it really matter? What Difference Does it Make...
MozFanNJ May 30, 2007, 12:14 AM :D I think Moz should bring back, "I Started Something I Couldn't Finish" for his summer tour here in the states. I have to agree...it would make a great encore. Throw in "Shelia Take A Bow" too and he has the b-sides for his next single with "All You Need Is Me" and "Drive In Saturday". I'd buy it!!!!!
Thanks for the info guys....Mark

I think it just makes that tube performance of it that much more special.

not 'technically' ... 'actually'"!!!

Yes..Bow Wow Wow showed there is life in that song :)
I'm still hesitant if All You Need Is Me should be a single...dare we remember Pashernate Love...Thank God that wasn't a single

Has Morrissey admitted the song is about Mike Joyce??
For me is dedicated to Ringo.
SNS22 June 5, 2007, 12:17 AM For me is dedicated to Ringo.
"Ringo" is Mike Joyce...do you really think Morrissey thinks Ringo Starr is insignificant?

Maybe he does, who really knows, many english don't admire old british bands. Example: The Edge for him the beatles were poppy band that's all.
For Oasis George Harrison sucked...
so...

I'm sure it's about Joyce...although Many think it's about Spencer Corbin
He would have faced a potential libel suit if he had named Mike or Joyce...Sorrow Will Come In The End was deleted from the UK Edition of Maladjusted and it never said Mike's name either, but Island was afraid of a lawsuit
Duncan_Dhu June 5, 2007, 12:23 AM I'm sure it's about Joyce...although Many think it's about Spencer Corbin
ja, Spencer, he is the ice cream gay sorry guy! (we hate it video), mmm delicious. Morrissey really loves when he offered him an ice cream lick. :p

Spencer is not gay though...I heard that Morrissey didn't like him getting it on with the groupies
