Here's one of my favorite shows. He was in great form that night, and the crowd was really into it. It is the authentic California Moz experience. This is a nice audience recording. Hope you enjoy it!

This was the second date of the 'Revolucion 2002' festival with Morrissey scheduled to perform between Latino bands Jumbo and Jaguares. The highlight of the Berkeley gig was the live debut of the unreleased "Irish Blood, English Heart". There had been rumours for a while that it would eventually be added to the setlist, and it was scheduled two gigs before in Fresno, but not played. Unlike in Anaheim the night before, Morrissey didn't remove "Late Night Maudlin Street" from the setlist. With the new song, the set included 18 songs, a record for this tour.

As for the rest of the concert, Morrissey was at his usual best, talkative and funny. He commented very often about the Bay Area with lines such as "... the bay breeze is getting to my throat" (the Greek is an open air venue). Many fans tried to make it up on stage despite its great height, but none succeeded.

Morrissey greeted his audience with "You're American... we're English... welcome to the Greek!". He called himself Mozcar De La Hoya. The usual introduction of his musicians started with "Last year I spent some time at the Betty Ford clinic, and while there I met these great four lads...". Before "Meat Is Murder", he told his fans that they were all good people and they would eventually become vegetarian. Before "Irish Blood, English Heart", Morrissey said "I think someone down front has something very important to say (fan shouts something) ... no, it wasn't very important".
