Just watched the above Bruce Springsteen Seeger Sessions on BBC4!!!

A hootenanany!!!

FANTASTIC, forget about the Smithsonian boxset this is the complete and utter history of music! from 1800s Irish antiwar songs to songs about the dustbowl to songs about the depression (updated to reflect hurricane Katrina) to crowd pleasers like Pay me my money down! I was never much of a Springsteen fan , till now.

Fantastic 5/5

not quite as good but a little taste...

Yes, it's a marvellous album... I didn't like Bruce Springsteen (and I still do not like his own songs), but when my father played that album to me, it was just... WOW!:)

I like the Seeger Sessions album but, nothing will ever get closer to Born to Run; The Phil Spector-like "Wall of Sound" arrangements and production is just incredible.

Yeah, "Thunder Road" is magnificent but "The River" is probably my favourite, oh that melancoly.

Bruce Springspleen is not one of my favourite artistes but I enjoyed the Seeger show. He's big and he's daft, Santa clause is coming to town!

Well, I grew up with Springsteens music and that's nithing I can get rid of so I'm a fan and atend some of his gigs in the area, Morrissey & The Smiths however was the first music that I decided myself that I wanted to listen to and the story goes...

Hell, Springsteen is in my top three. Magnificient voice, lyricist and musicmaker. He's is so very even, hardly ever released anything bad... This guy knows about life...
