Some of you may not realize the grave situation in which we find ourselves. Our own chica is being held prisoner by an invisible, perhaps malevolent, force in post number 1156 on the Post Whatever You Are Thinking At This Very Moment Thread. It might be due to some kind of ancient Babylonian curse, or it might be an otherworldly force. Feel free to speculate. Please show her your support by replying to her here. This is her latest update:
Wolve and tmyem!, you've made my day
edit: omg, I have 2222 posts! What can I do to keep that number? Sister? Advice?
edit 2: maybe if I register again as chica2?
edit 3: wolve, Wild Oscar posted something about nostalgia in Julia thread, will you please reply to that for me? Thanks!
edit 4: this is f-in' boring... I really should register again. Suggestions for my new username?
edit 5: Maybe some animal from the zoo? Do you think Donald, Wally and Andy would accept me? I have big teeth. Maybe some rodent?
edit 6: Look, there is a rabbit emoticon on Sloppy Seconds

Well, I really don't know, I thought Wild Oscar needed a shoulder to cry on (or a plimsoll to be spanked with) - as you can see, I didn't quite get the meaning of his post!

edit 17: It's just started snowing. And my cat has been possessed by an evil spirit. Just thought I'd share this with you.
edit 18: Does anyone else find this fascinating? The Little Girl Giant (the part where she eats ice cream is so creepy!)
I was seriously creeped out by that, having been in London around that exact time. Had I rounded the corner and saw that I would have run whimpering into the hedges, crying for my mommy, and slept with the light on every night. And I've never even done drugs!
edit 19: Just when I thought whoamI was a godsend... life is cruel *single tear*
edit 20: I wonder if Busy Clippers still has that mermaid house... I've been thinking about it all day. I'd love to move there so much...
Sorry, Mermaid house was made of shoebox, construction paper, and gluestick and therefore not built to withstand much. I do have an idea for one made of plaster, shells, and mosaic which might suit you better.
edit 21: A kiss, a hug or a hand shake? Wow, interesting topic. I have the same problem as the poster. Too bad I can't express my empathy...
Where I live social kissing is way out of control, it even happens in business environments. You have to have moves like Mohammad Ali to avoid it. And I certainly do.

Kill the lights in the middle of the road
And take a look around.....
It don't help to be one of the chosen

And the ground is frozen through, and you're
Driven, like the snow
Pure in heart
Driven together
And given

edit 30: Hello dear friends! Sorry I was out all day... Well, Sir Alec and Hatfull, you might want to know that I went out with a friend and an extremelly bizarre guy joined us (an acquaintance of hers). She and I both had a couple of cocktails (cocktails=fun!!!) and he had juice, nevertheless he was the strangest behaving person at the table. So everytime he said something bizarre my friend would touch my knee with hers under the table, which made me laugh, and the guy was getting nervous because he thought I was laughing at him. I had to do something, so I started caressing her knee with my hand, and trying to get further up her inner thigh too. (The guys from the table next to us enjoyed the sight immensely, but our friend had no idea what was going on). Then she burst out laughing and moved her leg, so my fun was over, but at least I wasn't laughing at the guy for the rest of the evening!
You big tease! There are things you aren't telling us.

edit 2: I had to check... Pluto is small... http://www.ioncmaste.ca/homepage/resources/web_resources/CSA_Astro9/files/images/unit4/solar_system.jpg
Religion: I think that 'Christian' in the US means 'protestant'. I read that someone inquired about becoming Christian, since they were baptized Catholic. Bizarre situation!
edit 3: Fishy, could you tell us where you saw the picture?
edit 4: But wolvey, Jesus wasn't just a messenger, he was God's son. Fishy, I found the pics! Hatfull and Kickstand, my ignorant westerners, that's called cup reading. First you make Turkish coffee - it's not filter coffee, so coffee grounds settle at the bottom of the cup (http://content.answers.com/main/content/wp/en/thumb/7/73/300px-Turkishcoffee.jpg), after you drink it you do this with the cup (http://images.google.com/images?q=tbn:IPQa6d_AuKFefM:http://www.exileonmainst.com/images/A_La_Turka,_March_5,_2002/Turkish_coffee_fortune.JPG) and after a couple of minutes this is what you get: http://www.filmalley.com/articles/travel/turkey/apple2002/33a.jpg . Then you tell fortune by those signs you see in the cup.
edit 5: Do you think our little westerners know about the phenomenon too? (I think they were raised on instant coffee, poor babies!) Erm, yes, you can read both cup and saucer I think, but sometimes we actually use the term 'sauce', so it might have been literal translation. As for Jude, I respect every size, if you put the member into right use. For example, Jude's seems to be rather pleasant for fellatio and anal sex.

As for mad pilgrims, thinking about dear Americans reminded me of this...
"This is the transcript of an ACTUAL radio conversation of a US naval ship with Canadian authorities off the coast of Newfoundland in October, 1995.
Radio conversation released by the Chief of Naval Operations 10-10-95.
Americans: Please divert your course 15 degrees to the North to avoid a collision.
Canadians: Recommend you divert YOUR course 15 degrees to the South to
avoid a collision.
Americans: This is the Captain of a US Navy ship. I say again, divert YOUR course.
Canadians: No. I say again, you divert YOUR course.
Americans: THIS IS THE AIRCRAFT CARRIER USS LINCOLN, THE SECOND LARGEST SHIP IN THE UNITED STATES' ATLANTIC FLEET. WE ARE ACCOMPANIED BY THREE DESTROYERS, THREE CRUISERS AND NUMEROUS SUPPORT VESSELS. I DEMAND THAT YOU CHANGE YOUR COURSE 15 DEGREES NORTH, THAT'S ONE FIVE DEGREES NORTH, OR COUNTER-MEASURES WILL BE UNDERTAKEN TO ENSURE THE SAFETY OF THIS SHIP.
Canadians: This is a lighthouse. Your call."

edit 21: Oh yes, Brokeback Mountain was such a disappointment! Poorly, poorly directed. Wasted story in my opinion. And was Dawson gay? I seem to have forgot details...
Kuiper: Yes, it's totally creepy, and guess what, that's what you get when sad fucks don't give women emergency contraception pills because of religious and moral objections.
edit 6: ^Someone please tell that to mister! *mad*
Robby is so sweet, he made me a celebration thread (http://forums.morrissey-solo.com/showthread.php?t=66219)! We will have to dig it up on December 31 *thumbs up*
edit 7:
Ignore This Thread My Poems Are Now On The Official Poetry Thread
Here you can post other people's poems that you like. Deep or superficial - it's up to you, but necessarily outstanding!
What the hell, shit happens... *sigh*
edit 8:
i hope it aint p*ss Chica off
No, not at all Robby. Actually that's the day when I officially stopped being depressed (unipolar type though...) so I'm almost fond of it.
edit 8: Yes, nobody likes him anymore... see this (http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=slobodan+milosevic): "He is just another reason why Serbia is a fucked up country and why everyone hates the fucking Serbs." :D But I hear he had an exceptionally likable and charismatic personality. Richard Holbrooke almost fell in love with him.
edit 9: Did I change Robby's mind?! Am I that powerful??? :O
edit 10: Dontcha worry, baby Fishy, I'll be here for you! I'm afraid this exile might have grave consequences though, I'm already watching Ace of Base (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FwatjHcV1ZM)! *sniggers*
edit 11: Wouldn't it be cool if I had an Ace of Base T-shirt! I can't find any on tinternet...
edit 12: Oh Clippers, you made me laugh! But I remember, after I spent that time in post 2222, my internet addiction was doing really better! So let's hope... btw, I still don't know what to reply to that fella! Clearly I can't tell him "you know, I was joking... poisson d'avril!"
edit 13: Facts: a- Robby knows good music, b- Fishy knows I'm counting *wink*
edit 14: Dear Puddle is such a silly person :D
edit 15: Once, at school, we had to translate the following sentence: It had been raining so there were puddles on the street. I said "puddles" meant "poodles" and everybody laughed at me. Including the teacher. But it makes sense, doesn't it? My mother always took me for a walk after the rain, because the air was purer! Why wouldn't poodle owners do the same? I never had a poodle anyway, so how was I supposed to know?
edit 16: But that was a beautiful outfit, was NOIP only joking?... Btw, why is this album (http://www.amazon.com/Mercury-Falling-Sting/dp/B000005ILF) so listenable? Almost... addictively listenable!
edit 17: (Valparaiso) And everything, but EVERYTHING started with this song... *eyes wander in the distance*
edit 18: For ordination... the same outfit? Maybe with black tights? Although, pink tights would make more sense...
edit 19: As for the wedding vows, I'm already crying and I don't even know whose wedding it is...
edit 20: But you can't listen to the Police without actually listening to them! This album somehow blends with the atmosphere. *another weird explanation*
edit 21: No song should be allowed to be this sad *offended* And No More Shall We Part (http://www.sendspace.com/file/gqfm4r)
edit 22: My dear fans, even those away at your mothers' for Christmas, you didn't forget me... yet! I feel voting "yes" in Puddle's poll was slightly wrong, because the question was "do you have A Moz-solo crush". But it's closer to truth than "no", isn't it *wink*
Wolvey, I listened to the whole album "No More Shall We Part" last night, and I must say it is utterly sad. "Hallelujah" is another favourite. Robby, I think the band are still alive! Or maybe Big Brother just wants us to believe so??? *paranoid*
edit 23: Born under a water sign *cool*
edit 24: I hope everyone realizes that now I MUSTN'T come out before 1st of January 2007, 00:01!
P.S. Robby, you forgot this one (http://forums.morrissey-solo.com/showpost.php?p=404057&postcount=69) ;-) (I think that's the first version of this song, with Brigitte Bardot)
edit 25: Wolve, it is actually quite healthy to sleep without underwear, it's on my 'to do' list, and you know you are my one true love, baby, don't you forget it.
Hm, it all ended up in one sentence....?
edit 26: I hope it's not in English! It would sound... wrong *giggles*
edit 27: Oh yes, summer in Serbia is absolutely perfect! And so is winter, because I have really warm blankets...
edit 28:
Do you feel you're "Unloveable" and "Will Never Marry"?
If it weren't for wolve... almost! *hurt*
edit 29: That's where I looked before answering this question, and I could only see your proposal! *a little tear*
edit 30: What kind of a question is that, Robby (http://forums.morrissey-solo.com/showthread.php?p=406443#post406443) *rolls eyes*
edit 31:Or this (http://forums.morrissey-solo.com/showthread.php?p=400855#post400855)...
Wolve and I are looking forward to becoming one person :O Thanks for the tissues, baby, they smell so nice...
edit 32: But Robby, I l-o-v-e your questions! You forgot to add "utterly charming"!
Wolvey, I may have to go now, and elaborating on you and I becoming one could take hours! :O
edit 33:
WTF!!? you came out?
I FORGOT! I SWEAR I FORGOT! IF I STAY ON 3000 BY NEW YEAR, DOES IT COUNT?
HOW DID THIS HAPPEN... BECAUSE I WAS IN ANOTHER SECTION, SURELY... OR BECAUSE I VOTED FOR HOTTEST CHRIST?! BTW, V.DEAD, I EVEN THOUGHT I SHOULD TELL YOU THAT I'M UPLOADING RADIOHEAD FOR YOU, BUT IT'S F-IN SLOW... WILL BE HERE IN THE MORNING!!!

edit 36: Btw, Virtie, feel free to hijack this thread with Kickstand... and don't tell him how we communicate, please, I'd like to see him even more confused!
edit 37: Thank you, sister Clippers, your words soothe me... And devil called Virtie tempts me, but that's devil's job, isn't it! Robby already made the thread, so we'll just dig it up when the time comes...
edit 38: Bye Virtie! You little devil you *wink wink*
edit 39: I never tried American pancakes... how do you people make them? They don't look like pancakes at all!
Great, now I'm hungrIsh.
edit 40: OK, so I've been reading stuff on http://www.yakrider.com, and that reminded me of the only time I tried meditation. This sentence did, actually: "I came to realize that mind is no other than mountains and rivers and the great wide earth, the sun and the moon and the stars." Because it was just like that, it was like flying above mountains and fields of red flowers... it was really beautiful.

Ethnic jokes might be uncouth,
But you laugh because
They're based on truth.
Don't take them as
Personal attacks.
Everyone enjoys them -
So relax! I love them too:
Scottish - "Concerning bagpipes: The Irish invented them and gave them to the Scots as a joke, and the Scots haven't seen the joke yet."
Irish - "O'Connell was staggering home with a pint of booze in his back pocket when he slipped and fell heavily. Struggling to his feet, he felt something wet running
down his leg. "Please, God," he implored, "let it be blood!" "

edit 7: Congratulations, bikubesong, for not doing anything silly like... locking yourself in a post. That responding to me thread will confuse Kickstand immensely, he already thinks people talk to themselves around here. Robby: I've seen about 5% of your 50 favourite films!
edit 8: What do you want to talk about, tmyem! darling? 2.5 films: Whole Amelie, 1/3 Citizen Kane, 1/2 Once Upon A Time In The West, 1/4 The Great Dictator, 1/2 Breakfast at Tiffany's, 1/6 The Seven Samurai. I did say about 5% (and I watched them from beginning to end, but I remember only 1/2 or 1/4 or 1/3, except Amelie, which a saw again recently)
edit 9: This^ list? Or my myspace list? I've never been able to list my favourite films, I envy you. I had an interview for a film school (!) a couple of years ago, and they asked me what my favourite film was... I couldn't answer (but that's a whole different story :/ )

edit 13: My... baby... even updated her signature... *single tear* © Sir Alec
edit 14: Because I keep my promises, even when I'm late for school:
Evelyn, the love vendor
on the corner
in the woods
Evelyn, the red lips
that invite
or repel
I used to lie to her
you are my angel, you are my devil
you're just a girl
aren't you afraid of God's wrath?
Evelyn, my contempt, my nemesis,
my fate
she just laughed in my face
and her lips were red
like an open wound
edit 15: No, it's always Evelyn. The girls might change, but every single one of them is Evelyn. And I lied, because you have to lie to girls, I guess...
@ Robby: you don't expect me to post to another thread, do you? *wink*
edit 16: Because if you tell them the truth they end up hurt and disappointed, I should know, I'm a girl *teary eyes*
edit 17: What do you mean 'don't be 100% gay' and certainly, what do you mean 'don't lie'? You don't lie?
edit 18: I like General Bonkers (is it Bonkers?) and, I'm sorry about you and Tina, and basically that's what I wanted to tell you. But also concerning 'all gheys', there is a volleyball team in Thailand, I'll find the link.
edit 19:They were called The Iron Ladies, they won their national championship in 1996. A film (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Iron_Ladies_(film))'s been made about them. About T*** : I hope you won't be sorry either, soon.
edit 20: I can't get used to pronouncing it 'i:vlin, because here it's 'evəlin (maybe like in German?). And you got it wrong, Robby, he who dies with most toys, wins!
edit 21: Bejaysus, what have you done, kiddies?! Note to self: never mess with the male ego!!!
edit 22: What is the most......Violent film you have ever seen? Well, I thought hard and I couldn't remember. Then I tried to think of a film that still makes me sick when I remember it. And the winner is: The Day I Will Never Forget (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0342265/).
edit 23: Yes, it was bad enough to make me sick of all kinds of circumcision, male or female.
Ego: I think it comes down to gender, really, I doubt it has anything to do with sexual orientation?
edit 24: GayIsh women, I presume that means not 100% gay, now I see why you like it that way :P (you could have told me though! :O)
edit 25: Is that a witch trial??? (I was born on Halloween, your time) And I never said I wasn't neurotic!!! *giggles*
edit 26: And does 'NON-static orientation' mean you're gayIsh, Robby???
edit 27: Too bad (about the spies!) we (women) love those stories!
edit 28: Thanks for missing me, Clippers, but at least you know I'll be back. I voted for 'the world before', but none of the worlds that I remember (never the nineties! we had neither bread nor milk... while in the beginning of this millenium we could choose between the two.) Once I saw a film from the eighties, it was autumn, which looked so beautiful and romantic... So the early eighties for me, please, before clothes became too horrid!
edit 29: thanks to the postal service that delivered in time for Christmas 'IJWTSTBH' in three formats. alright! - the postal service! http://users.telenet.be/honeybee1/postbode.gif © no one in particular
edit 30: I found myself a religion (http://www.libchrist.com/)! Woo-hoo, go me!
edit 31: My new religion rocks! See this:
Q:The Bible says to obey your parents.
I masturbate like alot of other people, but thought crossed my mind that it's not something my parents would agree with, I'm not totally sure because they've never said anything to me. Would I be disobeying God by continuing?
A: Forget obeying your father and mother, obey your Creator as Jesus said. For He created you sexy and to masturbate as it is healthy. If they don't like it, just do it secretly... almost everyone does, not a problem. Just clean up after yourself.
edit 32: It's about what you feel you are, wolve, not about physical predisposition! Someone please bump this thread, you don't see me (grumble, grumble © Robby)
edit 33: Thou infidel!
edit 34: Puddle's gone nuts! *ROFL*

edit 38: I miss JoRo, she was a very sweet person, deep inside... too bad she was banned!
edit 39: Of course I know Andy's password! Not that I can give it to you, though, that just wouldn't be right... if it'll make you feel better, there's nothing interesting there to see!
edit 40: No, I'm sure Julia Riley was someone else...
edit 41: Why is everyone up so late, does that have anything to do with Christmas?
edit 42: Merry Christmas, everyone! Emerson, Lake & Palmer - I Believe In Father Christmas (http://www.sendspace.com/file/o1ezn8)
edit 43: Why blush, wolve... I believe in Father Christmas too, it's not a reason to be ashamed!
edit 44: No, because Father Christmas is nice to people... so was Jesus, but God wasn't, and Jesus taught people to obey God, so I don't want to believe in either of them *sulking*
edit 45: But we weren't even there, wolvey!
edit 46: Thanks for your input, Fishy! Btw, Sir Alec is probably meeting the parents (http://forums.morrissey-solo.com/showpost.php?p=413510&postcount=3), let's hope he'll survive! :O
Wolvey, I don't know what else to say... but your last post reminded me of a song I love madly: Forever Autumn (http://www.sendspace.com/file/jfezxe)

that ^ is cute, Puddle.
I dunno Chica, I'd probably wear it (with tights, maybe a jacket). But speaking of death, and how I don't want to die now (since my dad died, long story), don't you think that adding the following to ANY wedding vows makes them just perfect:
Person 1:"And if a double-decker bus crashes into us, to die by your side is such a heavenly way to die"
Person 2: "And if a ten-ton truck kills the both of us, to die by your side
well, the pleasure - the privilege is mine"
I should totally transfer this post to the same sex weddings thread. I can make a BUNDLE if the legislation goes through... Now what should I wear for my ordination?

Of course protestants abondoned christianity - they thought christianity couldn't "satisfy" their reflections (sic: Feuerbach) and looked for another one. I'm not saying protestants are bad because they're not christians; it's just..once they were christians and then they believed to find a better religion...I have a lot of respect for protestants: just look at America: most of them are protestants, and America is one of the only countries where religion is so omnipresent - where state and religion are still mixed.

All these so called "new religions", no matter from what time they are, always have the same base like Christianity. You should check this, it's the same. Whereas the Jews parted ways, it's still the same. Jesus. It's one of the most fascinating stories. Even if you don't believe, you should "read" and "learn" about it. How different religions picked out some aspects to base themselves upon them. Because I'm a Christian, it's easy to say for me that Christianity is the best religion. But lots and lots of Christian ideals are present in today's life, no matter if you're an atheist or whatever. Many of us (atheists, believer, agnostics...) should know that God isn't a person: He is a damn person. Whether He is the voice of your grandmother who passed away recently, or the voice whispering in your ear of your friggin' cat, He's a feeling. You cannot define Him. For me, He's the reason why I still try things. I don't know if you read "the unbearable lightness of being", but there Kundera stated that everbody does things with eyes of others watching upon them: these "eyes" are often "beyond words", well this is God. It's clear that we cannot define things: why not give it a name then? I'm sure all of us have this different view of God, if not a man with a long long beard or just a "light", but still, He's there. The reason why I like Jesus so much is, because he gave up his life for us, humans. It's appalling, when you read stories, that we betrayed him. (but this I mentioned before)
Last thing I want to mention before you think I'm ranting: people who believe may look like people without confidence - but it's not, believe. People think more about religion - christianity, islam, jew - than you could imagine.

All these so called "new religions", no matter from what time they are, always have the same base like Christianity. You should check this, it's the same.
This was exactly my point. The Protestants didn't feel Christianity was no longer a good religion for them and looked for something else, they felt this was no longer the true spirit of Christianity.
Whereas the Jews parted ways, it's still the same.
Not sure what you mean by this.
Jesus. It's one of the most fascinating stories. Even if you don't believe, you should "read" and "learn" about it.
I agree, which is why I chose Christianity as the subject for my thesis :) .

You really don't want me to go to sleep, do you? ;) Here goes, I hope you don't find any of it offensive, if so please tell me:
The Jesus part is easy. To quote Kyle from Southpark, "my people don't believe in Jesus Christ's divinity" ;) . I believe he existed, and was a regular man, a pretty interesting one of course :) .
The God part, that's hard... For instance I'm not sure God really wants us to eat Kosher, or cares if men have sex with each other, like Judaism claims. But I believe in the Jewish "version" of God, if you will. Hmm, not as long as I expected (I'm afraid of saying somehting that will upset Him ;) ).
Now here's a tough one for you: how come Christians always say "God and Jesus", or sometimes pray to Jesus and sometimes to God, I thought you thought Jesus was God? And my boyfriend always asks how come no one ever prays to the Holy Spirit, since it's part of the trinity and all. Sorry again if any of this is ignorant or offensive.

This is kind of hard to speak about God - especially because your God and my God may mean different things. Please, what do you mean by the "Jewish version of God"?
We, Christians, think we can get to God through Jesus. Jesus was one of us - as we sometimes betray one of our friends, we have betrayed Jesus. How I would give my life just to live almost two thousand years back in time! My idea of Jesus is, he was this man who gave the people of Israel this whole knew point of view - some people may not agree with hem, but some of them do! We never thought Jesus was God (I don't know how you came up with that?). We always thought Jesus was the messenger, he must've been one smart person to think humanity cannot make it on iits own. We SOMETIMES see Jesus as the perfection of humanity: being good for the other human beings, suffering for us. But let me state this: we, Christians, are more concerned to see Jesus as an example.
I can imagine when some of us pray - like me - we always pray to the holy trinity. That contains our Holy Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. Yes, I often wondered why Maria hasn't been in there.
I still haven't read the whole bible through: but isn't it just intriguing how four people can manage to write different story about it?
There's something I can get really angry about: lots and lots of my friends are baptised, but still, they don't give a damn about the history of their religion. I have the opinion that you can do whatever you want with it, but still, you have to do an effort: you're part of that Religion!
Anyhow, it all depends from person to person I think.
I, for one, am extremely fascinited with religious mentions in books/poems/songs. Those people do something with their belief! It's really hard to believe in this time - extremely in Western Europe. I'm sure, drunken goldfish, that it's taken for granted in countries like yours to believe.
I'm still young - I still haven't found answers to so many question, and maybe that's why I believe. But, I just would've wished more people believed. First: God is something you create yourself, and that's why I want more friends of mine to believe so I can talk to them about it. Talking and sharing is crucial. Goddamn!

This is kind of hard to speak about God - especially because your God and my God may mean different things. Please, what do you mean by the "Jewish version of God"?
Well, I usually think of it as the Jewish/Islamic view of God (yes, we have things in common, shock horror), which is the basic monotheistic view which I hold, versus the Christian view, which is more complicated (i.e. Trinity). I don't know what all the other religions' concept of God is so I can't say much about that. Anyway, like I said, it's hard for me to know what to believe as far as what God wants - does he want us to follow the Torah? (If he does I'm in trouble ;) ). Is the Bible really his word? While my belief in God's existance is steady, my thoughts on what this belief requires from me are not.
We, Christians, think we can get to God through Jesus. Jesus was one of us - as we sometimes betray one of our friends, we have betrayed Jesus. How I would give my life just to live almost two thousand years back in time!
Again, a tough question: according to you, didn't he need to be betrayed for salvation to occur?
We never thought Jesus was God (I don't know how you came up with that?).
I learned that the official Catholic stance as of today is that Jesus was 100% human and 100% divine, is this false? Also, what do you make of passages like John 1:1 - "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." Isn't Jesus the Word?
There's something I can get really angry about: lots and lots of my friends are baptised, but still, they don't give a damn about the history of their religion. I have the opinion that you can do whatever you want with it, but still, you have to do an effort: you're part of that Religion!

First: when you talk about religion, please don't think in the name of the masses. You said: does he want us to follow the Torah?
Can you make out, for yourself, what God wants from you? If this is possible, could you give in a few lines the basic thoughts of the Torah?
Again, a tough question: according to you, didn't he need to be betrayed for salvation to occur?
Maybe you're right about this one: he needed to be dead for people to realize what he meant.
I learned that the official Catholic stance as of today is that Jesus was 100% human and 100% divine, is this false? Also, what do you make of passages like John 1:1 - "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." Isn't Jesus the Word?
Jesus wasn't 100% divine. And Jesus wasn't the Word. I'm sure you know the story of the annunciation (see art thread!) and immaculate conception: God couldn't show Himself on earth, that's why Jesus became His son: what would you say if some total stranger - from a different race - came up to you and say something stupid like: "there's more than life"? Of course God needed someone "human", someone like us. And again: we betrayed on him, and you'll never see anything else like betrayal.
I don't feel as strongly about this as you, as in caring whether others believe or not, in fact I'm sometimes ashamed to say I believe in God, because most people I know are atheists (that's a misconception you have about Israel there :) ).
You still haven't explained to me what God is to you. Yeah, I'm a bit "afraid" as well to admit I still believe, because most of the youngsters I know don't think about religion...
Anyway, I hope we can have a good discussion tomorrow. Need to go to bed now.

To get this out of the way before my long post to wolve ;) : when I type the url you gave I get two pages, make sure your safe search is off. And feel free (you and everyone else) to "butt in" with your thoughts, related or otherwise, especially since we hijacked it ourselves :) .

I'm going to divide this into two posts, hope I'm not boring you (or anyone else!)
First: when you talk about religion, please don't think in the name of the masses. You said: does he want us to follow the Torah?
Can you make out, for yourself, what God wants from you? If this is possible, could you give in a few lines the basic thoughts of the Torah?
Now there's a tough one :) . I think you should divide this question into two parts, as Jews often do: how does he want us to act to each other, and how does he want us to serve him?
The first one is easy. Since I believe in a bonevolent (sp?) God, it's logical to think he wants me to be a good person, kind to others etc. But I would strive to be such a person even if I were an atheist, as these are my values anyway. My bigger problem, as I said, is how he wants us to serve him. If you ask a religious Jew (which officialy I am not), then there are very clear rules to follow. The Bible, and especially the interpretations of it made by rabbis centuries later, define how a Jew should act in practically every aspect of life - food, sex etc etc. I don't follow these rules because 1. they are very tough to follow and 2. I really don't see the point in a lot of them. For instance, why should God care whether I eat meat and dairy together? Religious people can offer many explanations of course, but their bottom line is, even if we didn't have explanations, we should do it because God commands it - it's how he wants us to serve him. My question is: is this really what he commanded? Or is it just man made rules? My logic says the latter, but I always fear I'm wrong...
EDIT for no one, and I hope I won't get punished for doing it in the same post ;) - maybe he waxes before he goes to the pool :D.

Maybe you're right about this one: he needed to be dead for people to realize what he meant. (I'm going to elaborate on this one in the morning!)
I actually meant that his death was to attone for sins and bring salvation to mankind, wasn't that the divine plan?
Jesus wasn't 100% divine. And Jesus wasn't the Word.
Well, that's bizarre, it goes against everything I've learned in uni for the past few years  . I don't mean to be difficult, but here's the Catechism's take on it:
454 The title "Son of God" signifies the unique and eternal relationship of Jesus Christ to God his Father: he is the only Son of the Father (cf. Jn 1:14, 18; 3:16, 18); he is God himself (cf. Jn 1:1).
455 The title "Lord" indicates divine sovereignty. To confess or invoke Jesus as Lord is to believe in his divinity.
See here: http://www.vatican.va/archive/catechism/p1s2c2a2.htm#I
(Look, they quoted John 1:1 too! :) ).
As for the Jesus being the Word, see here:
http://www.vatican.va/archive/catechism/p122a3p1.htm#I
You still haven't explained to me what God is to you.
Is it clearer now? I have to admit I'm not that much of a spiritual person, I don't have well defined thoughts on this.

Never mind Jude, did you look at the site where the picture is from? They have those naked pictures of Brad Pitt from when he was still with Gwyneth Paltro.
Your call."
They should have blown it up. I think they could probably have reshaped the landscape into a seascape.
And no, Chica, we do not all drink instant coffee. I even do french press when I'm not being lazy. ;)
