This one is perhaps the bootleg most dear to me, as it's the first Morrissey show I ever went to, and the one that got my fandom rolling. Taken to the show by the girl I was going out with at the time, having had no prior Smiths or Morrissey experience, I was standing there, the day before July 4th, twenty or thirty rows back center, and couldn't quite believe what I was seeing. People threw flowers, fans rushed the stage! People obviously ADORED this guy, whoever he was.

I left the show in a pretty amazed state, I can tell you...

Awesome for posting (I have it). But yeah it's amazing how people first got into Morrissey. For me it was when my dad borrowed a best of The Smiths cd from his friend, he wasn't hugely into them, just liked a few songs, the first song I ever heard of his was There Is A Light.... That was it then!

You know, it would be a little trite to say, but it would be true: It was a bit like a religious experience. I wasn't 'converted' to him, etc. (smile), but the feeling there was so uplifting, so transcendent, you know? So, I walked away from that evening thinking seriously about why this guy with the flowers was SO popular. What was the pull?

Keep up the great work, bob!
