View Full Version : What is your signature about?

Since I wanted to ask drunken goldfish about her previous signature... but she changed it... I urge you to use this thread to explain where your sigs come from! And for Goldfish it means her ex-sig as well!
Mine comes from "Every Person", a song by John Frusciante.
And the first line is usually the last song I've listened to.
Next please!

My current one is from my favorite TV show, Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
The rabbit one, chica, was from monty Python and the Holy Grail. The knights are told there's a vicious monster guarding this cave. They don't see anything so King Arthur asks :"where, behind the rabbit?" and they tell him "it is the rabbit. That's the most foul, cruel, and bad-tempered rodent you ever set eyes on!"
The knights mock him of course and attack the rabbit. This is what happens next:

I think it is better if one uses this thread to first try to interpret someone else's signature that has provoked intrigue. Post your interpretation [or guess(es)] and then ask that member how close you were or if you were even in the ballpark.
(Kind of like Moz lyrics and our interpretations of them. Now what fun would it be if we had Moz in here just explaining the lines of every song to us?)
I would start, but at the moment, I haven't seen a sig that has sparked my interest enough. ;)
chica
October 20, 2006, 11:55 PM
When a sig sparks my interest, I ask about it :) E.g. Still Tired (http://forums.morrissey-solo.com/member.php?u=1956)'s.
OK, let me try - your sig means that despite all of your funny posts here, deep inside you hate being so entertaining? ;)

Blushing again.
But I'd never let you die in a state of mortal sin. When the lottery winnings come pouring in I shall have my cousin installed as Cardinal to secure a papal dispensation. Of course, that will have to come from the current Pope which might not exactly be what you're after, however you must admit it would be a lovely gesture especially since I think it will be easier than getting Bromley Dave to turn loose that Minotaure.

My signature changes depending. I've decided that nobody has to know what it means and that if it amuses me that is sufficient. Trust that is always has deep meaning though. For example:
My current signature is about a customer we call Dr Bob, click-clack, or that old clicking bastard, because he clicks his false teeth constantly. He has 10 adopted sons and none of them are sissyboys, we have been informed. He wears Dickies shorts to the knee and black over the calf socks so that he shows about 2 inches of leg. What a tease huh? He also wears gigantic turquoise and silver jewelry including a belt buckle that looks like a pro wrestling chamionship belt except it has a horsehead on it. We think he has something to prove and is busy proving it. So anyway, there was this pot metal wall hanging with some sort of Indian deity depicted on it and it was copper colored. He picked it up and inspected it for five minutes and announced
"this is not copper"
thank you

I just changed mine again, it's from The West Wing, one of the best written shows on TV (Aaron Sorkin = dialogue genius).
I also wanted to say rereading this thread after people change their sigs can be very funny, as in this case with Oh My God, It's Robby:
i kind of made it up
its like an amalgamation of a bunch of zen/buddhist wisdom
Then you look at the bottom and see Robby's current signature, which is:
I love soup, really, I do !
:D

Bewilderbeast is on another level to his other albums. Genius!
I enjoy the new album, it isn't spectacular but some great songs, worth listening to.

Well, I came from this city, a victim of peace
But I've grown far too filthy to attend to the feast
So I take to the hills to live savage and free
I don't need nobody, nobody needs me
This ifs from a Two Gallants song: I uploaded it for you guys (so you better be sure to download it and start loving this band, because they're getting little appreciation these days!)

I have made an serious effort to honest with myself, so with that in mind this is how I answer the tread question.
Objectively I think I am fairly good looking, yet my own vanity needs to hear that I am, yet I do not hear it from others.
Is honesty supposed to make one feel naked?

Such a fascinating story! I have always loved the Romanovs, were they not beautiful? Aside from the fact that they were oppressors...still, they shouldn't have been killed. Perhaps sent to New York to wait tables like all of the other Russian aristocrats?

I don't actually think it was her. They did DNA testing (disputed chain of custody, of course), it didn't match. She became an angry old woman. I remember as a child seeing an interview with her in which the reporter asked what she'd do if someone told her they believed she was Anastasia, and she replied, "I'd spit on them." Married a younger man (but creepily younger).

Mine is a quote from Pyramid Song by Radiohead in the Amnesiac album.
Thom's lyrics used to be my favourite lyrics before I discovered Morrissey. Still I prefer quoting Thom rather than Moz because I'm in a Morrissey forum, and to me it's a bit redudant quoting Moz here, everyone likes him here, whereas not everybody likes Radiohead. But then I guess it's a personal choice, how much of yourself you choose to show other people.
